Hey OP...
In case you hadn’t noticed, this website is to allow discussions about company layoffs. So, when a company has laid off thousands upon thousands of employees, as Honeywell has, who better to comment on the circumstances than those employees who have been laid off?
Who better to express concerns about job security and upcoming reductions than those who are still employed there?
It sounds like you just don’t want the public to hear the truth about just how distraught this company truly is financially.
When a department requires the purchase of a $10 part to be approved at the director level, I would say there is a problem.
So if the former employees and the current employees are not to post here, exactly who, in your infinite wisdom, is supposed to be sharing their comments on here?

For those of us who were able to get out, we're helping outsiders who are considering employment at HON by telling them the truth so they can make informed choices. Mentoring them in advance, which is more than they'd get from many managers at HON. As for "leadership," they definitely read the site, are amusingly more terrified of DA and "making the numbers" than of losing skilled, knowledgable, and single point of failure employees, and haven't given a sh– about employees for more than 5 years. Post away, Waldo!

I am having a hard time understanding how are the projects supposed to be completed if they keep firing people. EXTRA HOURS WON'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE! The environment is becoming toxic, here come the bad managers to make us work more hours, commit to more than can be handle, and possibly end up hating the place.

  • Over commitment on projects.
  • Benefits being reduce.
  • Not enough staff to support projects.
  • Low morale with mass layoff every quarter.
  • Stress by projects not being completed, high.
  • Experience engineer leaving or layoff.

Honeywell only cares about keeping money from investor invested. Burnout is at a a time high with management pushing for more to be done! Management has created these conditions - firing, benefits cuts, and extra hours.

@1byv+17AZIqEP - And plug and play. Anyone can be replaced at any time with anyone off the street as long as that person is a contractor. Honeywell doesn't need people on the payroll - for any role. Without any training or tools - they will bring their own knowledge and tools - a waste of Honeywell money. Where are the real futureshapers?

I’m totally qualified to post here.

I don’t currently work there and I’m not a former employee since I’ve never worked there.

I thought it was a bit inappropriate to write about a place I have zero experience on. Thanks for the green light. I’ll continue to write up a storm.

Cost or asset?

According to a honeywell executive

As Vice President of Human Resources and Communication for Honeywell in Latin America, ____ is helping Honeywell grow and creating value by taking care of the company's most important asset: its people

https://www.wherewomenwork.com/Career/2600/Honeywell-Latin-America-Sandra-Barbosa

So is this recent public statement aligned with the specific metrics and behaviors demanded of management across honeywell?

You decide.

Employees are a cost, not an asset.

“Breed negativity” is basically the tenth Hpd behavior at honeywell.

Aero leadership needs to reap the outcome of their actions. That includes unionization, empty booths at college recruitment events, and truthful reviews of honeywell branded products to counteract the fake reviews purchased through Asian reputation management firms.

Management does read these reviews. They mention them at every skip level I attend, which is pretty frequent lately. Truth is management can’t look away because they know this site is the only unfiltered conversation left about honeywell.

Well, there is one other unfiltered conversation. ... supplier quality meetings.
Reference the T55 thread on this site. We haven’t figured out how to deliver that engine on time and in working condition after nearly 70 yrs of production. I cringe every month.

Tired Manager, complaining doesn't make anyone feel good about themselves. Like a good f**t, however, there is some relief from expressing anger and frustration.

This obvious lack of understanding of human nature clearly qualifies you to be a tool of the broken system. Congratulations.

Does anybody really believe that MM or DA or HR read this stuff and muse: “Wow. Based on this website, the employees are appear to be upset. Maybe we should change our policies and restore all of the benefits. And let’s forget about the finances and focus on making sure that the employees are happy and enjoy coming to work.”

The only benefit of this website is to make people feel good about themselves because they complained. Nothing else.

Quit complaining and quit if you don’t like working here.

To the OP, make you a deal. Once they bring back honest employee surveys we will stop posting here.

Not a single VP or director has employee satisfaction or career development in their SMART goals. So, the only things that gets leadership attention and drives real change are...
1) a program crashes and burns from incompetence and employee apathy.
2) SPF employee quitting
3) that their reputation so bad they can not recruit and don't pursue a contract.

The 3rd option is the most gentle option to drive change and what this site is about.

OP and others of your ilk: So we're supposed to endure forced OT, shrinking deadlines, shrinking support staff, serial cuts in benefits, raise clawbacks, forced PIPs, training cuts, offshoring of critical jobs, downplaying of the virus threat by tone-deaf "leadership", and politely walk away without a whimper? I THINK NOT!!!!!

OP - I agree with you. Most of the people who post stuff like "I'm out of here in 3 weeks" or "I can't wait until the next RIF when I can volunteer" are just blowing smoke. They are just trying to convince themselves that they are in control, when in reality they can't look themselves in the mirror without realizing how many financial mistakes they've made in their life that requires them to continue working.

To OP, that was an absolutely pointless post that won't have any effect and was a complete waste of your own time and others, almost like the actions of HW leadership......oh I see....the penny just dropped!

Letting off steam here is way cheaper and more convenient than therapy. That's what a layoff site is for. If you don't want to be exposed to negativity, first quit Honeyhell, and second, don't come here.

The comment was not made to hobble free speech or boss the site. Negativity runs deep on this site, and only breeds more negativity.
If you are not happy at Honeywell, make a change. If you're happy in your new job, why continue to heckle those still employed?

THE TRUTH HURTS. I guess thats why HR took away the PER survey because they couldn't handle to hear how terrible the company is run and why leaders have no clue. This has all been directed by MM himself and shows how paranoid he is. His time will be done as CEO shortly when aero is not able to respond to demand surge. Heck, Aero couldn't respond to strong demand before the pandemic and PD kept rising...Madsen.......you and your chosen crew have broken a good company...nice work and we appreciate all that you do in this difficult time.

I heard similar words when they gave me my mandatory meeting.
"You are valued team member" and a string of words that where all i heard was "GO AWAY"

Nope , not going away.
Plan to heckle and cheer until the train hits the bottom of the ravine.

Honeywell management CREATED this site by treating people as disposable "resources",
In return we get to treat management like the "tools" they have become.

ROFL.. this site is the best.
Now i can sit and hope/pretend the @op is a director-wanna-be-vp who is being forced to see the reality behind the coolaid. Just the possibility of rescuing one of those true believers will keep me posting for months while i spend my severance.
