toxic work environment? threats of layoffs? don’t know where you’re going afterward? why not unionize and have a chance for better employment conditions? many of us have nothing left to lose. the law protects it

@1ck any offshore folks here want to join a union? I think my colleagues overseas know they're being taken advantage of as well. If you can get India tech workers to unite with onshore and wherever else... That would be something.
Even more jobs would be shifted off shore. Unions only have strength when union employees are the only employees.
@1bx everyone thinks they're the rockstar, but bell curves do not work this way.
Bad idea. In 42 years of my career my worst experience was being in a union. The UAW. Unions protect lazy, poor performing people. Professionals don’t need unions.
We need to figure out what we would ask for. You can't just demand no layoffs or more money. The workers need a strategy that has some positive for the company as well as ourselves.
Keep dreaming.
@bx Tech companies in general are unionizing. The deduction from your paycheck is nominal - 1.3% were the union dues at my last job. The president made 200K a year. Stephanie Farris’ compensation package is over $21M for FY 2024 - she makes 467x the median salary of our employees! https://aflcio.org/paywatch/FIS
Never will happen, name 1 FINTECH company that is unionized. Unions have outlived their use, maybe if it was 1960. Would you like another deduction from your pay each payday to make the Union bosses get rich? I have survived almost 35 years at FIS, No thanks.
