Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Claims is a Nightmare

The more they roll out AI and the metrics and the micro management, it’s clear State Farm think doesn’t give two sheets about employees. D1 injury has so many people out on leave or are quitting because bad management doesn’t know how to treat people with any shred of dignity. Everything is ‘trust the process’ or ‘our competitors do it’. Didn’t state farm used to be the big dog in the industry? How can a company this big just copy what it he competition does?

Worst part is that it’s a 2nd level management issue company wide. Total loss, injury, pip/mpc are all struggling. They send out those ‘anonymous surveys’ each month but they only do that to retaliate against people who’s give them 1s and 2s. You need OT but they’re so tight on the purse strings for management bonuses.

Good to see they stopped harping on it, when i was in injury it was sorta newish and we had to duplicate data in ECS and 3pet to make managers happy, all for no positive function on my end. Also its good to see someone still posts here that clearly works for the company, two posters above you ruin this board with silly garbage bait and over exaggerated "company bad" slop.

Leave this place as soon as you can! It is a soul su-king, incompetent h-ll hole! This company is now in a proverbial death spiral and every single portion of the company and its business model is a total disaster. They are promoting the worst of the worst people that are just heel clicking soldiers carrying out the "sentences" on the employees. Make no excuses or do not live in a fantasy world, these people are basically criminals, plain and simple. If you see an Executive speaking remember they are lying and playing games and politics with peoples lives. Just get out.....and tell everyone, everyone how horrible this company is and get them to cancel their policies and also tell their friends and family. The day this company shuts the doors, the world will be a better place!

@1ey Injury fills out way less of that 3PET BS than somebody in Property-Complex is expected to. Injury is allowed without any BS from management to just fill out the bottom of who did the id--t thing that led to the accident and put 100% on the id--t and 0% on the other. Comp neg is what I think they wanted in theory to be applied to every single accident. But comp neg unless it's a couple of id--ts in a parking lot is such a cr-p a-s defense. 3PET was forced on us to push comp neg. Ironically a state that sees it that way we are not and never were allowed to that junk a-s ish.

@15m..... I think your smoke detector is chirping, time for you 14th COVID booster, need to restock those N95 Masks in your car for those solo rides, maybe get a bigger nose ring, work on that neck tattoo, and time to send more money for the LGBTQ+ for Iran charity group!

@17j

It was suppose to standardize settlements more, but in 100% of every use its over ridden because its inaccurate, and you cant use "well my system says this amount is good enough" to an attorney...it just doesnt work like that in reality. Its a tool that was suppose to improve things, made things worse, costs money, creates more busy work and provides zero benefit to the handler.

So your claims handlers are usually bogged down filling out a 3pet screen they wont use at all for any reason, and most the time just clicking things to satisfy the "its filled out" requirement. Multiply that by 350-450 claims in their inventory, with maybe another 500 hidden in the shared queue that just gets sent back to you if anyone calls in on it.

At one time I thought 3PET was being used to train a liability AI (like how Injury trained the demand modeler.) Maybe Mitchell will one day offer a liability AI?

@bx a very naive thought. Doctors are using AI to determine medical treatment of the most complex illnesses. And you don’t believe AI can settle a claim. Got it.

@15f

Yeah cant stand when people try to put odd politics in here. Really wish there was a quality space employees could actually talk about the company with out the downvote farmer and oddballs ruining the board by over use....i dont even know wth this 2030/2040/2050 talk is, but i do know people who say "bootlicker" are usually deranged politically obsessed people.

Since its been awful in claims for about 15 years, you have to assume its by design.

Really su-ks the air out of management gaslighting that the care when theres a nightmare department no one wants to be in that has to literally force people to work there...

The existence of claims as it is, is why i dont believe a single thing managers say about caring, that place is a nightmare and by design, and youll just shove people into those roles to get rid of them vs being adults and letting people go wo do terrible work.

Our leaders are cowards.

It's the burn and churn and pump and dump business model! Welcome to MCBurger King insurance. By design.... torture and abuse until the morale improves AKA you quit and it keeps the expenses low, stops employees from forming unions and promote the mindless lemming 2040 bootlickers that are willing to play along. Corporate America is just another form of modern day slavery except if you do a little research slaves got more time off and if they were share cropping, they got to keep more of what they produced then the modern day American worker! Stew on that fact a little!
