Ayman Antoun (new CEO) caught in disguise at Waterloo office

Heard a rumor that Ayman was caught in disguise walking around the Waterloo office as an employee. Can anyone confirm that or is it another April Fools joke?

@1e1 OpenText is beyond divine intervention. Not sure any miracle could get us out of this mess unless there is a technology revolt and we go back to paper documents and faxes. No amount of prayers will get our AI to be competitive.

May GOD Bless and save us from the stupid leadership and board.

Ayman is no miracle solution for the company. He is returning from retirement for financial reasons and lacks both strong industry recognition and a proven track record, never heard of him before the announcement. The lack of any positive movement in the stock price following his announcement underscores the market’s skepticism as well. I have little confidence in his ability to deliver a meaningful turnaround.

@1dd The only winner with Ayman as the new CEO is the sales team and their commissions funded by the layoffs of those who actually know the product. It’s a grim ending for a once-great tech company.

Maybe he’ll bring some weed into the Waterloo office for 420 on his first day. That’s the only way he could boost morale.

He's getting his 4 days in the office before he appears on the naughty dashboard list.

Put your big ibm'er pants on and start making changes now. No one else gets a sneaky preview into a company.

Drop the 5 days a week bs to appease to VPs that don't have a clue what they're doing other than spreading hate and fear whilst stunning growth. They should be named and shamed and booted.

@e6 why would they cut non sales staff from EU countries? Makes no sense as they are expensive to fire

@az No, not the US. EU and Asia.

@cb My team has spent the last 2 years doing a mandated integration to a tech stack that was ki-led last week. Scrambling to deal with that.

We've also been tying everything we can process-wise into ValueEdge for 3 (again, mandated).

Got anymore deets on the possible VE divestiture?

@cb ValueEdge ever worked in Engineering ? This is very boxed app, like that of its ancestor

Perhaps he is the one behind some unannounced but expected changes in what is considered an OpenText "core" product, and therefore what can be added to the (prospective) future divestiture list. All the pain switching from Jira (which worked) to ValueEdge (Core Software Delivery Platform) which is still feature-poor compared to Jira, and now it's apparently on the short list for the next divestment.
There is already a very distinct sense of impending doom.

I don't know about that, but I do know for the last 16 weeks he has been actively engaged in making decisions around the go forward plan which includes huge slashing of employee numbers before the start of fiscal year 27.

Also part of his plan is to shut down employee presence in countries outside of sales employees. Over the next 12 months there will be fewer and fewer employees who live in certain countries.

Also, part of his plan is an operating model mirrors IBM.
