Yes, rare decent info. There are a large amount of employees at SF who are OVER THE RETIREMENT AGE who they would prefer to retire in certain departments. Theyve even crafted a severance package to basically pay them for a full year to just retire now. you would have to be insanely greedy to want to work that long past 65, so they targeted that.

its actually a decent idea vs losing 20 something to competitors. I have someone whos like 80 on my team, im not sure why they are still in the game, they dont need to be, and likely have a fantasic pension waiting collecting dust.

60 yrs old, I’ve been here 35 years. Pension is great. Retiree health is great. Pay is great ($180k non management),one day a month in the office, it’s what you make of it snowflakes. Leadership on the other hand is hit or miss. About half should be fired for incompetence or lack of meaningful impact. Why lower the age to collect and pay more when they can tell you to leave. 😂

@18c whatever helps you sleep at night. There are many people making a lot more than people in higher positions here with businesses too etc. mainly due to Statefarm's backstabbing for promotions culture. Like I said, you're not the only genius here, there are many that try to make things work and don't boast about it.

38 years with SF and I can't wait to get the he-l out. I am 58 years of age and ready to retire if I was able to get 100% of my pension at 58

Retirement! Did taxes today. Made more money 2025 than I did working when I retired at 57. Remember SF didnt give it to me! I worked for it.

Wow ya'll must be in claims. I make well into the 100k range. Great job, not a 30 year employee but i can retire and get 100%. Sounds like a lot of people don't understand retirement or retirement age and should have gotten a government job

@qh Forgot to say I worked another job while working for SF. Never ever put all your eggs in one basket, State Farm is not the only game in town. They want you to believe they are BUT no they aren't. People make mistakes buying into their BS! Many many times I worked my second job and drove past my coworkers in a tractor trailer watching them play while I was shoving money in the bank. Watched them take expensive vacations to fit in with the Keep up with group while I laughed at them. They're all image at SF with no backbone to create value and work with their hands. That's why they sit in a cubicle, have mental issues, obese and do dr-gs. My physical labor was for fun while getting paid and working out.

Any pension plan is a good thing, but SF pension su-ks by comparison and the 401k plan that goes along with it also su-ks by comparison. Not sure about the new 401k but if I had to guess, it probably su-ks by comparison also.

@qh I guess Im in good shape. I moved out of state, paid cash for a house, reduced my tax exposure, never divorced Alimony, nice 401K, bought a new 85,000.00 vehicle, paid cash, etc. Taxes and insurance are our only expenses. Home worth over 1 mil. Retired ar 57 and laughed at all the divorces and substance abusers going out the door. It's all about lifestyle.

I'm a CS and no, not really. I have lived within my means and live in Plano and work in CityLine. I live in a small apartment and drive a paid for car. Yes I have a 401k and the pension and will hit 55 next year. If I want to retire I have to leave Dallas. The cost of housing, transportation and food have all doubled since 2019 and everyone's pay has not even come close to keeping up. Yes, a lot of people waste money and I get your point but they only way I can retire with any decent standard of living is to get out of here and move somewhere were it is really cheap like Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama or maybe some other small town hours away from DFW. Not too appealing.... Know this...it is part of SFs plan to keep you desperate for money and work you until you die or just quit. Place is a garbage can!

I think I speak for a lot of tenured folks in claims when I say that it's going to be very difficult to make it to age 62 in this job. Maybe leave around age 60 or 61 to keep your sanity and try to defer pension to 62 to not take the hit. Tough choices. At least SF now lets you get on the retiree health plan without taking the pension.

They don't want you to retire, they want you to just quit. State Farm is the sc-m of the earth, the whole industry has become this way. You have fast food and Amazon jobs and the next steps is State Farm. It is bottom of the barrel. JF is a complete tool, embarrassing! All the DEI hires, re-rded agents and a cast of women with mental and emotional problems make this place a tool insane asylum.

Execs listen up now. Layoffs are everywhere. Take advantage of that. Fire everyone not in leadership with 10 or more years. You can hire three people for every one that is overpaid and doesn’t work

Don't make the mistake I did. I stayed at this toxic company for the health insurance at retirement benefits and pension. I was here about 25 years when they changed the health insurance benefit for retirement and cut out a major benefit and/ spouse coverage for people under 50. I was under 50, but the lady right beside me with about 2 years with SF was 50 and got to keep the benefits that I had stayed for. Even though I had more years with the company I got sc--wed. That continued to happen through out my career, always cut out because I wasn't 50. They have done nothing but cut benefits since I've been here. Age discrimination at its finest. Now they are just trying to push us older ones out before we reach full retirement. More age discrimination. My advice would be to leave and find a company that values its employees.

They should change it to the rule of 85.
Age plus yrs of service = 85 = full retirement.
Cheaper to pay retirement than salary.

Our society cares only for people that produces something of value for the corporations, government and crocked politicians. If you are not doing that, you have absolutely no value to them. They don't care if you lay in a ditch and die. If you stroke out at your desk at State Farm ,they will have your replacement there by the end of the week. Pension, 401K etc.. is all really a scam. They don't pay people enough to properly fund their 401K and they make you miserable or work you to death so you can never get 100% of your pension. State Farm is bottom of the barrel and about as bad as they come.

I think full retirement should just be available after 30 years of eligible service, regardless of your friggin' age. Most everyone that makes it to 30 years is 55 or older anyway beacuse they started in their 20s. People who started in their 30s would be the ones making it 62ish after 30 years of service. Early retirement should still be available at 55 years old, but maybe reduced only if the years of service are under 30 years. Retirement based on age su-ks. If you've worked for 30 years, that should be enough!

It's why our pension is overfunded! State Farm has done an awesome job running people off before 62. They still have to contribute to the pension but if they can get most people to take 60-70% of the benefit they win. Limits pension contributions, liability and they also get to replace that person with a lower salary that is not pension eligible. State Farm is a useless pile of sh-t and the Executives are typical scam artist. Make no mistakes, they know exactly who to target and when. We have a company full of actuaries and investment people that crunch numbers all day long. Claims uses the torment, torture and abuse method to run people off.....no need to pay, it's been very effective!

Exactly, there is no benefit to the company to make someone stay to 62 years old. Get them off the books and onto the retirement. Give them more % to go on and retire and save on higher salaries. A minor adjustment here may get some to go on and retire.
