Thread regarding Blackbaud Inc. layoffs

@16m This really hits home. It’s hard not to feel disappointed watching what’s happening right now. The reality is that job security feels largely out of our control, and I wish more mid-level leaders were candid about that instead of pretending otherwise.

It’s becoming clearer that decisions are being made far above us, with priorities that don’t always reflect the people doing the work every day. That disconnect is tough to ignore.

At a minimum, it’s a reminder to set boundaries and protect your time. Do the job you’re asked to do, well, but don’t sacrifice your well-being chasing a sense of security that may not be there. Early mornings, late nights, weekends, and working through PTO shouldn’t be the expectation.

My mental health is worth a lot more than a bigger boat for Mike, a 3rd home for Chad or David, or their golden parachutes.

@162 even though they have told us repeatably that is the case I don't think anyone wants to face that reality. i have heard from coworkers that they are trying to make themselves valuable. it does not matter. they have a plan. they have a list of names and dates and you go when it's your turn, full stop.

The most concerning part is this was not done based on performance or competency. A lot of great talent was let go, and lesser talent kept. Was it based on salary or time in role? No idea.

Not enough data points just yet but based off what we’ve seen, it could very well be monthly cuts. Expect quarterly at a MINIMUM.

It also appears that you can be cut without an India team equivalent. I wonder if India hiring isn’t going as fast as they’d like and now they are taking chances on cuts without a replacement.
