How did we all do with the job search? I was blessed to be able to snag a job pretty quickly. To the people who are left behind: you will NEVER have less work than you do right now, but you'll probably have more eventually. Private equity isn't going to spend income on additional payroll. If you're considering leaving I say look around, it's not so bad out here. Then again it took a shove to get me out the door so who am I to preach? Good luck everyone, may the grass be greener on this side.

@13v OMG and I bet they have to do exceptional work as well or they don’t get their severance - so glad I’m done with that place - sorry to those that are still there - it’s a dumpster fire!
Oh but I did read they have Starbucks and free snacks 🤣
@13v They are going to get hosed on their bonus, you now need to be working at Walgreens when the bonus is paid out otherwise you lose it. No more staying until the end of August and getting your bonus a few months later.
Did you know there is a group of people that were forced to work until the end of August at the Corporate office, NOT given the option to be on "administrative leave" but forced to work until the end of August knowing their job is ending? These people were "accidently" terminated with the February people that were on administrative leave!! STAY CLASSY WALGREENS! These people now have a NEW start date to get them back into the systems. Will this affect their severance at the end of August? Time will tell.....
Start my new job at one of the Big 4 tax/audit/consultant firms on Monday.
Better benefits, significantly better pay, 3x/week in the office (one block from the train station), and higher position.
Don’t miss Walgreens at all. I’ve been able to breathe since February.
@kh enjoy your free snacks and Starbucks coffee ….. not sure where that will get you when the next round of layoffs come and the current severance package no longer exists! Best advice look for a job while you have one ! You’re just a number on a spreadsheet unless you are bffs with some of the decision makers ! It’s all about politics now !
Company is slowly becoming better. Sycamore give us snacks and star bucks coffee for free. Sycamore will also give us a raise. Sycamore had to get rid of some people. I am sure it was a hard decision. Sycamore gave you the good packages.
I was laid off in February, and like you, was fortunate enough to find a new job quickly. I just started this week! Some things about the job are better (pay & benefits), and some are worse (having to commute to the city), but overall I’m glad how everything worked out and I’m grateful to not have to deal with the uncertainty of layoffs and Sycamore leadership policies.
In process - yes lots of opportunities out there! After 8/2026 they can change all the benefits we were the lucky ones!! Congratulations on landing a job - and yes I had to be shoved out too! It’s not easy to leave when you are “comfortable”.
