Intel should be transparent and provide % layoff per group, i.e. % per white, Indian, Chinese, etc. The assumption is 11% of each group will be layoff around the world but likely the largest percentage will be in the US with most of those being... — read more

Things to take care of in 1:1
Hi, what things to take care of during 1 on 1 ? What can be asked ? what can be reimbursed via cash or additional time ? Can we bargain the package ? Rules will be separate for CA and OR I believe.
One bourbon, one scotch, and one beer . . .
And I'm making each one a f-cking triple.
Leaked information on next week's layoffs
Information has been leaked to Oregon live that VSP's will offered to everyone that did not get an outstanding or promotion in the last 3 years. This is to allow anyone who wants to leave to take a great VSP package and leave Intel and also be... — read more

Managers should be laid off
I hope first level managers are laid off . They don't give a damn f--- about their team. All they care about is if they are not booted out. Such first level managers are protective of senior engineers and show favoritism . Which is very bad for the... — read more

Did any Grade 9+ get 2014 VSP?
Anyone know if a grade 9+ rated successful (not EE or O) that worked in the orgs that got VSP in 2014 also got a VSP? Did the VSPs not get offered if you were a certain grade level like PE/Fellow/VP?
If I resign on Monday before Intel gets a chance of handing me ISP will I be forced to take ISP?
The thing is I have another job lined up which I am supposed to join July 1st. I was planning to leave intel June 15th but now with this ISP thing I am not sure what to do. I think I may be on the chopping block. I don't want ISP because the next... — read more
Monday VSP Mail
Seems VSP people get email on Monday. But ISP people get notified Mon-Fri. So if you email on Monday you are VSP and not ISP. But if you don't get any mail you're not VSP but you don't know if you're ISP (which may not come until Friday) or safe. So... — read more
ISP while on vacation

Intel Union
What is your opinion on forming a union to protect our profession? How are we high-tech engineers any different than university professors, airline pilots, nurses, etc that get protection from corporate greed through their unions?
Is there a life outside Intel and would it be at least equivalent instead of having to sacrifice pay or relocate outside of Phoenix,AZ ?
I have been in Intel almost 21 years and was hired as a RCG . Almost certain of being offered a VSP . I have never looked for a job outside and havo no idea how marketable , the pay range, and opportunities for an IT professional in the Phoenix area... — read more
Laptop and phone
If I am fairly certain I'll be ISP, should I wipe my hard drive and phone before entering the building on Monday? Already got my personal stuff off.

I work in a group relating to the development of Bluetooth drivers. Is this group safe to work in for the foreseeable future?
1:1 with my manager
Has anybody that qualifies for ISP received a 1:1 meeting notice for Monday AM? If not how will they handle this many people w/o an invite? Come find you Monday AM or wait until Sunday afternoon to send you the invite?

I did not use any vacation day this year, either my sabbatical yet. What will happen to those days!
I was so busy and the team relied on me for our project schedule. I could not take any vacation so far. Will they compensate for those days?
What if opt-out on enhanced retirement but then face project cancellation 60 days later as announced?
I'm an old timer and not expecting any performance based action but will likely be impacted by either retirement, project cancellation, or sight closure. Also not quite ready to retire. So here are my questions. Is "Enhanced Retirement" voluntary of... — read more
If you get an ERP (Enhanced Retirement Package) are you marked "do not rehire"?
Just curious since I will get one Monday and will look for another job. If they say do not rehire the new employer would look at this as a negative.
VSP criteria
Did anyone leak this? Any ideas? (Not the ISP, everyone has seen that).
Age discrimination in play. HR whistle blower needed!
I posted this in a comment on the age-based discrimination thread. Last summer, Intel said the layoffs were merit-based, by using the stock levels, and it just happens to be a coincidence that the ages of the laid off workers skewed older. Per the... — read more

Public Service Announcement: DO NOT LEAVE Any Minimum Pension Money with the company.
I have heard thru an Intel friend that last year, people were encouraged to leave their Minimum pension plan money in the plan....they were told "it will continue to grow". What BS! Due to historically low interest rates, the "Annuity Factor" today... — read more
