We all hear about the complaints from the hard working folks against the bullshitting opportunists who move up at the expense of the really nice hard working people. I am just curious how those opportunists think about their dirty acts. I mean are... — read more
Anyone not taking VSP?
Is anybody here not planning on taking VSP offer? I've been reading through the posts and it looks like most of those who received it, have taken it or are ready to do it. It would be interesting to hear from those who choose to take a risk to stay.
A quick update...
I would just like to say that I completely understand we are going though a very difficult time at the moment. Doing a restructuring is never easy but we are doing it from a position of strength. It's never easy to lose colleagues especially as many... — read more
Please can everyone that had been offered VSP take it
We have be subtle to preserve your dignity and show you respect. But even low performers like you must realize when you are not wanted. We are overworked in HR and even though it's fun reduce a grown man to tears we just don't have the people to... — read more
Layoffs will be like a drug to the senior management
They will reduce headcount by 12k and see profits increase by $300m per quarter. The world will not collapse since a manufacturing company like Intel has a lag between revenue and expenses when R&D is cut. They will start another round shortly.
When are we expecting the ISP agreement mail
US folks, did anyone receive the ISP agreement package yet
Aicha to run for president in 2020
I've heard rumors that Aicha is thinking of running for president after seeing the success of Carly Fiorina. Black lives matter
It is only going to get worst as less than 50% of the12k layoff has been achieved
Get ready for next slaughter especially in the US as another 4-6k heads will roll soon.
Is it me, or is Intel the dumping ground for burnt out, low performing executives that failed miserably at their previous gig?
It's just an observation that it seems like a lot of intel's exec hires outside of the company tend to be folks that weren't very successful at their former company
Qualcomm versus Intel, yes Qualcomm is winning...
It took qualcomm 3 times to buy 3 separate wireless connectivity businesses, and it finally got the last purchase right: CSR Intel tried building it's wireless/mobile business 3 times now. And it's still a miserable failure. With Murthy, make that 4... — read more
Intel vulnerable through end of the year?
Anyone else notice IT security groups are losing a higher than proportionate number of people to ISP/VSP than other groups? Those roles can take up to a year to get an internal hire up to speed and multiple years to really know what they're doing. A... — read more

Sales pitch to my teenage kids

Would it be good move to join Samsung Semiconductor Inc? At N San Jose?
Looks like Qualcomm is struggling too. We have limited time left to decide on that VSP thing. Thank you for sharing your view.
Intel please offer VSP to all of your employees.
I have heard from more than 10 Intel people now that they wished they were offered VSP's. I believe some of the people who have been offered VSP's are working their assoff because they are in critical projects. Whereas I see people who are not... — read more

Any known risk turning down an ERP?
A friend of mine was offered the ERP. And we know that the ERP was a numbers game, YOS plus age > 75 and it went to you. My friend is not in a financial position to take it. Is there any perceived risk by not taking it? Me, I would take it and run... — read more
Which one of you morons posted this in the Qualcomm section?

The last time Intel pulled back, it cost them the top spot in the CPU space

Doom and gloom for Intel
Not likely. I survived the dot Com crash lay offs at intel. Otellinis 2005 layoffs and now 2 more. Grip and complain about h1b but intel needed to cut back. And to be honest some workers just sucked. Sometimes you are the a list actor you think you... — read more

[50 years after Moore's Law]: Krzanich's Law - Every fiscal year to let go 11% of INTEL employees to have/make company raise 11% of the profits!
Short name for the Law: Eleven Eleven. Every similarity with Seven Eleven is just a pure coincidence. Interesting Law... I am asking myself, how long Krzanich's Law will last? 10 years? 20 years? 100 years? Or till INTEL existence seize?! Anybody... — read more
For you oldsters - Intel is Boog Powell - read to see my POV
