Biden is pumping Intel in the State of the Union speech...
Can somebody in PR get Biden the updates on layoffs and pay cuts... He just said Intel is adding 10,000 workers earning an average of $130,000 in Ohio. Looks like he is pulling from the spin from last years speech...

MSO Execution
Anyone else find it disturbing how Keyvan keeps drilling we had execution issues but can't pinpoint what they were? Guess he can't say Sandra out loud in front of employees
intel downsizing
I think I was the first person to sign up for the second round of voluntary separations. Totally clueless layers of program managers upon program managers. Large blocks of employees that switch jobs every 9 months to escape accountability. IP... — read more

Intel generosity
Whatever your views about intel execution, can't question their generosity and they have proven track record on that. First they generously donated talent to rest of the industry via ACT/vsp, then they generously donated their market share everywhere... — read more
We just need a flashy new management book to fix everything.
We just need a flashy new management book full of catchy ideas made by MIT graduates. Then we can spend millions of dollars to become the "enabler" for this new pipe dream. Sound stupid? It is! (IoT) But that's how Intel's leaders think!
Where Will Intel Be in 3 Years?

Engineers are always the ones to pay the price
In every company I worked for, whenever the management screwed things up it was ALWAYS the engineers that were affected most. Sometimes the management got fired (e.g. MR in 2019), sometimes they moved to another role, sometimes they were left... — read more
In 10 Years... We'll be reduced to 25% of its current size...
In 10 years… Server share ceded to AMD which uses TSMC technology and scale to maintain and extend a consistent lead. High volume leading edge mobile X86 PC market decimated by more battery/power efficient ARM processors designed for the Windows... — read more
Shareholders Are Expecting Massive Layoff, not a Mere Pay Cut
The in-fighting is a sign of over hiring. When someone is doing a good job, things moving along nicely, the managers would inevitably report it upwards as a success and demand three more head counts to fight over the same job. How would a company... — read more
Martin Shkreli AKA Pharmabro analyzes INTC financial statements
Throws in a couple of good digs at Intel's 10-K advertising it as the "industry leader" in semiconductors. "It's kind of funny how these [has-been] companies are really focused on ESG (environment, social, governance) because they still have that... — read more

does intel reduce RCG salaries as well who will join in summer as grade 8 AI/ML?

Anything this year ?!
Why are the Intel Layoffs so under reported
My feed is filled with layoff announcements from big tech, but no numbers out of Intel. Supply chain took a 20% reduction. Hearing similar numbers from marketing and finance, but why isn't anything reported?
Leave the real workers alone!
Don't penalize the engineers/workers who do the real work! It's management who screwed up. They should take a bigger pay cut and leave the salary of the real workers alone. You NEED these workers! Downsize the inefficient management team!
'What happened to this company and when?'
Many prior threads on this. Here is the cliff notes version: Intel got bloated and lazy focusing on core business. Core business was undermined from below by better ARM solutions Core business demands slows Intel failed in wave... — read more

If you don’t know who that is or don’t care. You don’t deserve to work at Intel.

So you want me to be a "Foundry Services customer"?
You missed the markets for 10nm and 7nm. TMSC is now producing your chips because you can't do it yourself. You promise that once I become a customer you will do better and will never prioritize Intel chips over mine. It's all pie-in-the-sky BS if... — read more

It's time to consolidate the C-Suite.

Is 5N4Y really on track ?
Looks like Pat has tied the fate of the company to success of 5N4Y. TMG wasn’t touched during CPM. Are the nodes really on track ? Does it make sense that Intel will gain back process leadership from TSMC with a fraction of the capex?

Labor market is good
https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2023/02/03/january-jobs-labor-market/
Layoffs vs Pay Cuts
Layoffs are superior if done correctly. They retain true talent at market comp rates. They cut the no-value dead weight. This uniform pay cut incentivizes the dead weight to stay and the true talent to leave.
