This is sadly very true. TRUE leadership would've behaved very differently. Cuts were inevitable but true leaders would've handled this with a great more dignity and grace.
The whole #BeRefinitiv was such a farce and such a disrespectful way to kick things off - regardless of which side you fell on after the RIF. "Launch" parties after the layoffs would've been subdued too, but a much more appropriate way to handle things - both for those going and those staying.
Obviously the existing LTs (which have, largely, remained unchanged) did not change the course of the company. Without fundamental changes at this level the DreamCo alluded to won't come to fruition.
Very few people (none?) in the remain org structures are real change-makers - and that's what's really needed. As a result, what they're moving towards ultimately is a break-up and sell-off of what's left. $6 billion start-up? Pfft!
