Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

My Pledge thingy is VERY cringy!

A colleague of mine who pledged the following: “I’ll work harder, the startup way!” and was all over the celebrations and all excited... just found out today that he was let go!

Who’s the mo--n who thought it was a good idea to manipulate these poor souls into thinking that they have to pledge to a ruthless private equity play especially knowing that they will be massive and brutal layoffs. I feel bad for everyone staying at Refinitiv to be honest!

More than agree! cringe out since last week.....in office, smiles faded....numbness faces with "sigh" during crossed pathway. Moaning or wake up service atmosphere pretty soon....

I watched David Craig's town hall remotely since I wasn't in the office that day. The presentation was followed by the #BeRefinitiv pledge and celebrations, which could be seen for a few minutes before the live feed ended. What a sorry sight. I couldn't bear to watch all those people pledging to #BeRefinitiv and a week later knowing so many of them would #BeRedundant. What a joke. Glad I was out of office that day and didn't have to live through it.

If pledging is the way to get the "way out" ticket I do it in a heart beat

Go Go Refinitiv, I'll be bold to tell you how I want you show me the way out

Totally agree!. I know that the launch celebrations would've been subdued AFTER the layoffs took place but it was stupid on SO many levels to do just before. The majority of people weren't enthusiastic about the celebrations because of the lingering uncertainty, and anyone that tried to be supportive have been made to look like right fools.

I genuinely feel sorry for the people left. It must be an awful atmosphere and the uncertainty will continue for many months (if not years). Let's face it, no-one is safe as the layoffs were really not based on performance quality. It's a real shame on on-so-many levels.
