Store mgrs do not decide who gets laid off.

Reviews are on glassdoor.com are terrible. This will scare off all future employees....except maybe kmart employees. Think those comments are written by the same 3 employees that comment on this site?

We had 5 full time managers the one that got laid off had 20+ years and the only one that didn't kiss the managers ass.

I thought they could pick and chose to layoff who ever they wanted to.

maybe they'll be forced to take these folks who just want to work and take care families back. Truth be said.. not the most glamorous job in the world but to do it for years and years you have love it.

Ha....fishing for lawsuit rumors? If Follett was so ethical why would there be a real worry? You mean the Follett Values are not upheld?

Have not heard anything substantial other than some employees in November said they were contacting a lawyer regarding their severance and unemployment. Some were worried if they accepted the package they couldn't apply for unemployment.

Has anyone heard anything about pending lawsuits regarding FOLLETT violating their own policy and procedure in the way they conducted layoffs and their selection method?

I just read the 2 posts that were previously mentioned and they are very professionally written indeed.

The comments have been a little thin on substance lately...they seem slightly shallow, and may not be carrying the weight we think they do.

Layoffs in eFollett too? I heard they got rid of the Graphic Designer during the first layoff and treat the ones in the department they don't like poorly. It's gotten all the way to the field how some are favored, coached, then promoted.

Why is the steering committee allowing this? Layoffs of bookstore staff, technical people and support and hiring HR? What are they thinking?
