Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Are any employees (not contract workers) being offered a severence?

Have any laid off workers who are vested employees being offered severances OR what are the early retirement terms? Can some one mention?

In general, exempt is a salaried employee and non-exempt is an hourly employee. There are, of course, exceptions.

This is the short (official)answer as per guidelines. Results may vary according to various criteria, i.e. who you are. Non-exempt employees get 1 week pay for every year of service up to 13 years. Exempt employees get 2 weeks pay for every year of service up to 13 years. That's it in a nutshell. There's nothing magical about it.
