Does anyone know about any significant cuts/layoff plans for Geophysicist, seismic data processors, etc. It seems like we have a ton of work but I know they could always lay off some and give more work to the others they keep. "Do more with less."

It's the future of the company. Laying off GeoSolutions would be shooting themselves in the foot.
I tend to agree but if they just cut across the board, then the layoffs won't necessarily be well thought out.
I have no insider info but I really think it'd be stupid to cut people at GeoSolutions? It's so hard to find talent, and things will turn around in mid 2015 I think.
I heard that at least in the short term we will be safe. When I asked what the short term is, I was told "up to 6 months". I decided not to stress out, they are keeping the information very guarded and it will not leak, so, since I cannot control it I decide to take a passive stance and wait. I just hope that the severance package they design covers me for a few months while I look for job.
