I know that there is a thread on 2014 layoffs, but I think that 2015 will be much worse as the market looks frothy right now and if we have a downturn and a major drop in business travel, 2015 layoffs will be immanent. I do not know for sure but it looks like we'll have an eventful year

They layoff 20 Employees on may,14-2015 in Florida between FT. Lauderdale, Miami ,Tampa some other cities in the with in the state.
My wife is being laid off Jan. 23, 2015 due to corporate level incompetence. The home sales agents are being replaced by a call center in the Philippines. This is affecting about 400-500 workers in the Mobile, AL area alone. I feel for the single parents relying on this job. They are getting severance pay, but this is still raw deal.
Recession? There is no way? We are not even close, the market will have to run up additional 30% to get even close to a recession.
