I am new to Follett and compared to my last company (kmart) there is a lot to fix, I thought kmart was bad. You should appreciate the new resources and talents they bring to the table to help Follett instead of being so critical and unwelcome.

Just doing a job like everyone else.
You see I raise a toast to all of us
Who are breaking our backs every day
Even is a campus does go with included they wont be locked in as they can switch the process to another more experience provider (like a current publisher has already developed). Switching will also have the benefit of removing a additional failure point in the process and provide additional savings by eliminating the middkeman, just send the WSDL request to another URL. The campus will not be locked into Follett. Follett is having to meet the campus specifications not the other way around.
That is the best part of included (long tough road to get it in), because it is equally hard to get rid of it. The strategy of lock in for many projects is alive and well.
Included is not taking off big time. There are a handful and each one if different and it is a tough and long process to get a campus on this process.
42364 this is deceptive. And frankly sickens me. I'm out.
The key is billing in total. Do not provide the detail to allow the students to complain. Included is taking off big time.
Include ed can work at a limited amount of campuses. Very limited.
What has already been discussed at our campus is the students and parents are going to up rise if choices are taken away, this is an issue they have been fighting for years to have access to. If the Universities and colleges are going to include books they will be doing it to save on costs for the students and are not going to pay extra to go through a middleman as they have determined it will not provide any cost savings.
This is all crazy. The book business is dead. Include Ed will not last. The GVP'S and RM'S have been programmed to shove this nonsense down our throats. It will not work in the long run. Students will not stand for it. Neither will their parents.
No one believes you or the numbers.
All you naysayers, the Sept results will speak for themselves.
So, MLS fires all those associates who spend decades of their lives in dedicated service (which used to be honored in milestone anniversary luncheons) to save money and make the rich Folletts richer and as the company goes to hell in a hand basket she hires the rejects from a failed company (KFarts) to right the ship! MLS wrecked the ship. The collective knowledge of the college book business MLS threw in the trash will never be recovered. If you think you’ll right the ship you are truly psychotic. Your management team is the bootlickers that MlS hired to tell her how dynamic her leadership is. Sorry, the emperor has no clothes!
I agree. Kmart turned into total crap. I quit shopping there years ago.
Kmart is one of the worst run stores next to sears that I've ever shopped at. It's the truth and I've thought this for a long time. Long before what's happening at Follett.
I have the same kmart shirt and wear it proudly just like your president did at the town hall!
I just started a new job with Sears a few weeks ago after watching Follett come in and destroy the bookstore that I worked at. Watching the new employee videos, I can see what the new Sears/Kmart execs wanted to do at Follett and can see where they f***ed it up at. Maybe those execs should go back to Sears/Kmart, watch the videos again, and try taking better notes.
Lmao. Sounds like a kfarter.
This company is going downnnnnnn.
Satire, people, satire.
That's pretty damned funny. Although you left out how well the fall rush has gone. If only kmart listened to you the follett has listened, they too would be reporting great results (although, with a publicly traded company, there may be some security laws that prevent the lying the kfarts can do with the follett numbers).
Your resources and talents failed to fix kmart. You personally bailed out because kmart/sears are facing bankruptcy. During the last two years this current kmart management is responsible for follett continuing decline.
41572: I don't see bitter people here; I see people trying to understand what happened to a company they respected, believed in and worked very hard for, just to be lied to, dumped like so much unwanted refuse. You will find out, keep your resume up to date.
I overheard someone talking about this site and decided to check it out. Bitter people, new employees have nothing to do with the layoffs previously. We are just here to do a job like everyone else.
The new leadership has been in place for how long? So if there is a lot to fix I wouldn't blame it people who left long ago. You play the blame game too I see. Sounds like that must have gone on quite a bit at Kmart, great working environment.
New to Follett, and one of the first things you do is go to the layoff.com, I call Bravo Sierra.
Are you one of the new VP'S?
Good luck my dear. You will soon learn. :)
