To clarify...the one laid off was with follett about 5 years more than the person who was not laid off
My old store had two text managers and 4 full time hourly staff. One of the text managers was laid off as well as 2 of the full timers. The text manager had been with follett for 8 years...longer than the one that was laid off. He was older btw
I feel sorry for the stores. They laid off so many and now they are going to add more shipping responsibilities by having them operate as mini warehouses. I guess they figure they have access to cheap labor due to locations near colleges. They had student employees walk out last year due to jobs requiring knowing the various systems without time invested in appropriate training resulting in an overloaded and stressful work environment. I wonder the outcome of this Rush.
Layoffs will continue, let's face it no one's job is safe. There will be no notice just an escort the day of.
What if a store has more than 1 text managers?
If your not a store manager, text manager or gm manager it's just a matter of time. Don't be caught off guard like others have been. Get your resumes ready and keep an ear out for new employment. Good luck to everyone!
There will be isolated layoffs of one or two employees at a time through September. They want to look at the rush numbers.
Anything on the store level?
Aurora AP or operations?
How can they spend that much K on aurora and not have it operational? We are storing and shipping books from the stores. Ya know cause we have such a HUGE payroll budget!
I heard Aurora may get hit.... Yes again. Enjoy your summer!
