Field layoffs

More field layoffs this summer. If you have more than 3 full-time employees it's coming your way! The goal is for all stores to have a store manager a text manager and a GM manager. All other employees will be part time.

note to anyone who'd like to commit a fraud or larceny in the stores, now's the time. Cash management must be a disaster. Cashier integrity can't be enforced with drastically understaffed stores, especially during peak times like graduation and rush.

Penny wise and pound foolish.

When you have part timers coming in and out while trying to do receiving and shipping, not only for our store but for what ever was sent through OMS. Ever changing systems, Rentals, Soda, POS, AR, reconciliation, reading piles of bs emails, checking inventory, trying to keep shrink down, answering phones calls, working with the campuses and the facility, oh yes there is plenty of time to show a new employee where and how to setup the store. It's takes more then a broom and a rag to make store look good and provide good service.

9655 i understand what your saying. Something similar at my location. Some people make more of an impact than others. Some people motivate better than others. Some people set a better example than others. When those are the people that are let go us part timers quit caring. One of the most relevant post I've seen on here in a while. But I'm just a store level part timer.

Our store has a store managers a text manager a full time shipping supervisor and a full time customer service supervisor. We lost our gm manager in the nov layoff. Our store should be renamed f-mart because that's what we look like when you walk in the door now. It's a wreck! Our customers keep asking what's going on they want to know if the store is under new management because it looks so bad! When we tell them who Follett decided to layoff the comment is " FOLLETT really F_ _ked up!

Well, then things are about to get real exciting! With only three people in the store who have any real useful knowledge of publishers, books, clothing vendors, Dept 7 vendors, the campus or any of its functions, SODA, or rental (dys)functions, customer service is about to take a dump in the toilet. I guess anyone with a question can just get behind all the other people waiting in line to talk to one of those three to have their issues addressed.
