Kinda funny that company stock has gone up this week isn't it???
Had our meeting and they wouldn't even let FDC and RDC log techs have the meeting together. Basically told that our jobs are gone effective 9/13 and that routing and backhauls to be done by HQ. Scheduling to be done by Ryder out of Texas. Will have 8 TSS positions, 1 CMMS tech position, 3 clerical positions. Shitty part is that everyone already in a clerical position or CMMS position get first dibs...even if they are only in role for a few years, they still get priority over log techs that have been there for 10-11 years. So basically our seniority only counts against each other at this point.
And the severance package, are you kidding me? The CEO gets fired and gets 55 million for running the company into the ground...but the highly skilled and specialized employees that ACTUALLY run the company get 1 week/year of service. Not to mention how much the government is going to rape us on in taxes on top of that.
I say vote out these a-holes at corporate and then sell your Target stock before it takes a HUGE hit when this news breaks. Speaking of which...has anyone heard of this in the media yet? Think that is something that needs to be brought up ASAP.
I have heard of another regular DC going to 12 TSS. I know the rdc/fdc campuses have a different structure, but the others should be going to same size it would seem. Side note- That is about the most pathetic severance package ever. 1 week for every year. Also, the timeframe of having 2 weeks to decide if you are going to take the severance. If you stay in role, no promise that you will be employed through 9/13. Paperwork states (CURRENTLY set for 9/13), gives them plenty of legal wiggle room to not keep you that long. Target has truly become just like the rest of the pack that they used to lead.

Did anyone elses TSS get downsized? I was offered production because they are only keeping senior TSS.

Well, doesn't seem like there is much to say or share here. I assume we all got the same message. we have been told there will be 2 merit positions at 3802 that the 9 logistics techs can go for (after current people in dept do a job change), other than that, warehouse or packing. also can post and interview for a2 UA postions that are currently posted. Anyone else get a different message?
Logistics jobs to be outsourced , I don't have a time frame, I know of one DC that is telling TM's they will be allowed to post back in to production if they want.

Whatever happens today, people across all DC's and affected departments need to stay in communication with one another to ensure that if there are layoffs, they are done fairly and in the same manner across the pyramid and between departments. And if there is reposting, it is configured the same way everywhere, not just to protect someone's "favorite" .No one else has your back but you, surely not Target. communicate directly,through this site or another blog if someone starts one. Could be nothing today, but highly doubt it. We have all seen the changes in the past 5 years.
We have our meeting at 2 pm. Hope we can still work on the floor. How soon will the layoffs start? Does anyone know yet?
