Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Summer layoffs

So I had my leader come and saying my job performance is not up to par and given 39 days to find a new position ( which is impossible) within Target. Are new round of layoffs coming soon. I have never had bad reviews or performance issues in the 15 years I have been with the company.

Look for another job they will get rid of you. My husband was with the company 10 years and anytime a coworker was given a certain amount of time to find a new role or improve their performance they were gone at the end of the time given. They were not employees on corrective action every time many were people who were not "brand" enough or were not all gung ho and willing to go to every single team builder, meeting, volunteer event and other things Target demanded. My husband was close he valued family over company and upset some when he chose to come home for dinner over drinks with coworkers and his boss. He did leave the company he saw that guys like him who were paid well and had been with the company for a long time would be the first to be cut. This was before any layoff announcements. He knew there would be cuts after the data breach and Canada failure.

We all knew this when coming to work at a place where we all wear a bullseye. HR and Legal have adopted an assumption of the risk strategy. Thank god we don't have a gun deprtment like Wallyworld or we would have to check for plastic on the floor of the store manager.

I'm hearing from friends they are looking to get rid of the more expensive employees in favor of part-time minimum wage ones. Good luck to you!

sorry to hear this, never mind looking for a job with in Target, you're marked for termination, even if there are available positions they probably won't consider you, 15 yrs equals lots of benefits/cost, start looking outside of Target. Good luck.
