Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Managing by fear and intimidation

Quit managing by fear and intimidation. You have workforce living in deep deep fear - Don't treat your employees like this - it's not good for business. The founder of the company would be ashamed at you for what is happening. Preserve the legacy with quality and integrity, not with pressure and bullying.

Now they are going to take this company down the same road as the did with Sears/Kmart take a company with no long term debt using the borrowing power to do the same here, put this company in debt before it's death.

To be fair..this type of management was going on long before the new management took over. It started with the economy downfall. Ever since then the atmosphere at Follett has gone down the drain. And now it's even worse as the middle management tries their best to micro manage everything and control their people. They are fearful so they lay their bullshit on the people below them. So many people just don't give a damn anymore because their managers are just so horrible. I'm sure there are some really awesome managers out there. But some of them are control freaks!!

Fear, control, can't be challenged, alienation, attempts at lowering the value and self esteem of others, won't work.
