Just because Follett's profits are "in the billions" doesn't mean that is making the company better, nor is it trickling down to the hardworking employees that make the company profitable. Go on salary.com or indeed.com's salary search and see what you're making compared to what others are in the industry. You'll be in for a rude awakening.
With layoffs, "retirements", people jumping ship, and wondering if you may or may not be next on the chopping block all leads to a tense and stressful work environment.
Not to mention those who were let go struggling to find new jobs, make ends meet, pay mortgages/rent etc.
Let's just hope the shake machine heals all wounds
