Instead of focusing on competing with amazon they should have focused on offering what amazon couldn't offer, personal service, friendly familiar faces. When students faculty and staff found out about the way FOLLETT laid people off their perception of the company changed they now see FOLLETT as the company they have become cold heartless corporate and greedy.
