What’s the national region?
Heard like 150 people from the national region and ALL of Field Marketers. There is no more NR. What a disaster.
Shame.
They completely gutted the national region
I heard a lot of ppl got cut.... like a ton.
How are reps happy with covering 1/2 schools? How would you ever make $? Another botched restructure. How many is it now? I've lost count.
So nothing happened? Good...
I left in 2017.
Godspeed...
heard not one rep in the south got laid off and reps only covering 2 schools. Everyone that did get laid off, gets to "reapply". LOL. Def see you all next year! Same time, same place!
Early reports are that this is just another shuffling of the deck chairs on the Titanic. Guess this means we will see you all again next year!
Any doubters/haters now that don't believe you will be a Generalist LOL
what's the call in number for the town hall?
Here we go!
She used to title these organizational updates as "Straight Talk with RB". If you took a drink every time she said "I'll get back with you on that" (and never did), you would be dead before the call ended.
Straight talk? Someone has a great sense of humor this morning.
Lies is more like it. Half truths. Whatever you want to call it; there will be nothing straight about it.
Ready for a little straight-talk with RB today!
Exactly. Of course top management knows. But the layers below (GMs RMs DMs ) won’t know anything until today, then they will let their people know. This isn’t hard people.
Managers is a vague term. DMs are in the dark. VPs of Sales know and signed NDAs months ago. Words matter people. Don’t listen to anyone who isn’t specific and precise with their language.
Seems like conflicting messages--some saying managers have known for a while now, some saying managers won't know anything by tomorrow? So who will be making these layoff calls if not managers?
I’m wondering if this second reorg was planned before last years reorg??
Several reps that are generalist now only cover 1 (large/multi-campus) school. Last years realignment was the dumbest of all time. Everyone saw it coming from a mile accept management apparently.
One account?
How will Pearson ever find someone to replace me at the ONE account that I cover?!?!
As many have said.....40% layoffs of reps. All that are not let go will be Generalist. Not sure if it can be said any clearer. For all that doubted...everything that’s been said so far has been true.
Managers got severance package options already. This has been going on for MONTHS. Expect a call from your manager following the TH.
Managers won’t have any news they can share; most DMs won’t know if even THEY have a job.
Town hall scheduled tomorrow at 11 for sales. Call from managers after that????
How many reps will be let go and is it just outside or inside and hybrid as well?
So.....do the reps believe me now? Or are you still burying your head in the sand ?
Tuesday.
Since information has been released what day next week is this happening?? Anyone know?
Yes...ready for a call from either HR or Highest level director who reads a script telling me my position has been eliminated, when i will be paid thru, that I'm open to applying for any other internal positions, and Pearson appreciates my services. I'm pretty sure no one else will care what happened to me as others will get laid off too. The ones who stay will most likely have survivor's guilt and will not bother to call.
If you are a Pearson rep that gets laid off and you are genuinely surprised when it happens, you need to step back and assess your entire life.
Do you think they make the decision the day of the lay-off? Information is spreading because decisions have been made. Didn’t know that was hard to comprehend.
This website is the only place talking about a lay-off.....??
How are people getting these facts?
Why would a hotel confirm that information for someone (# of rooms)?
Reps in denial per the usual.
40% reduction is accurate.
Hardly any reps were touched last year? That's not accurate at all.
or just that product and marketing are not going. That doesn't mean anything.
