HON’s War on Fixed Costs

Just read this analysis by Morningstar. Honeywell is going to keep the war on fixed costs and that includes employee related costs.

If you learn the language of Wall ST you would know this has always been the focus. They talk a lot more about margin expansion and cost reductions than they ever say about research and development

This company buys the Inventors and then squeezes out the costs. Watch what happens with Intelligrated in SPS part of Honeywell. Their margin will go way up but new developments will decline. And their brightest inventors are leaving and will continue to.

The recipes worked over the years just look at the stock price. Honeywell is a great company to Investors but doesn't remain to be a great company to work for most employees. I stay due to pension and overall compensation. Once that balance tips too far to Honeywell I will leave too. Everyone has their own "tipping point" when the pain isn't worth the compensation.

The youngest employees have the earliest tipping point because they don't have much investment in Honeywell so they are leaving faster. But now even the 50+ categories are leaving after only working here 2 years or less. Next volunteer severance will probably be a tidal wave of exits
