Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

If the Pkg happens to be offered. Read what’s offered, Think long and hard.

The Pkg offered in our state was decent. With the $26,000 offered per contract and the bonus additional amount of up to $30,000 depending on how many years you’ve been with the company and your unused vacation is like almost one years wage. They also subsidized 2 years of medical. Read your paperwork, ask questions and make an informed choice.

If you are close to retiring. It’s a win win situation. Company is giving you like one years salary to leave . It’s a great exit package. Think long & hard and decide. If it’s time to retire or if you Are close to retirement age. I made the jump and it turned out great. Retired and relieved.

There is life after centurylink.

The worst part of leaving early and not wanting to go back to work is the cost of insurance, which works out to be about $855 per month for one person. Times two for adding a spouse. So, you have to do the math on how many months away from medicare you are. Insurance is huge. However, if you intend to work, not a big deal.
