This whole colleague availability issue has been a big topic of discussion on this site for quite some time. However, we need to stop judging people SOLELY based on how many hours they can or can't work. I know of some really good part-time people at cvs, who are seasoned, experienced, been at cvs for many years, and work harder and better than some full-time people. This is just my opinion, but I feel part-time people should be allowed to go as high up as operations manager. The store manager should be the only one required to be full time. We are limiting good people simply because they can't or don't want to go full time.
I can tell you this from experience... "There is ALOT more to working at cvs, than just coming in at 5,6, or 7am in the morning!" Just because a person doesn't want to work crazy, slave shifts, shouldn't limit how far they can go. Hours don't make the person, their work does! We also shouldn't be treating employees differently just because they have a family, or a life outside the store. Cvs is your JOB, but it shouldn't be your LIFE! Getting back on topic, my point is this... Their is something to be said for years of experience, and a person who is solid, hardworking, loyal, dedicated, shouldn't be looked at solely based on hours only. Thoughts?
