Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Is it just me, or does this page remind others of QAnon?

Rumors, gossip and some just simply made up stuff get's posted and when one thing out of 10 comes true, they say see we told you, we're always right.

Only because oracle chooses to operate that way - nothing natural about it

With a company like Oracle that acquires so many companies there's bound to be layoffs and re-orgs.

Sorry you got hit. Doesn't seem like it now but you'll be better off in the long run. Dust off that resume pick up a few skills along the way and you'll be fine. Don't let the "O" trolls throw you off. Good Luck!!!

I was with Dyn.

I appreciate this forum.

Was able to catch things early.

Some junk, some pearls, the forum is a mix of things.

Good things stick and are discussed, upvoted. Junk gets burried.

The site is not a problem, we would walk away if it was... there is a reason people keep coming back and commenting.

Good luck.

rumours suggest someone with at least some connection, credibility, and or source.

Here there exists none of that except for tarot cards and chicken bones.

It's a wasteland for the disgruntled and laid-off to cast aspersions and end of days predictions. Add, rinse, repeat.

They are hurling pebbles at a castle and, with great delusion, think they will breech the walls.

No revenue growth for several years now & market capitalization stagnant, especially compared to other tech companies, including MSFT, AWS, SFDC, GOogle. So, yeah, Oracle has nothing to crow about here, trolls.

Did I say MSFT market cap hit a Trillion? That’s right a TRILLION- that’s 5 times the oracle market cap. Eat your heart out 3 stooges and trolls! A TRILLION!

Anything to burry the painful truth that O isn’t doing that great.

Yeah, having a net profit of $10B is just terrible. Because NetApp clears $1B, HPE $2B, SAP $5B, etc.

It's kinda foolish to complain about reading rumors on a rumor forum board (check the index page, the purpose of this forum board is clearly stated several times). Suggest either going back reading news or learning how to scan trough the info presented to you.

Just like with every other rumors you hear - you take it with a grain of salt and use your experience and common sense to disregard things that have little or no value.

Can spot the trolls by the language they use and the number of reactions they get, they try to heat conversation, catch a person or two and then get nuked by admins. Every rumor that doesn't stand gets forgotten pretty soon. The rumors that stick are the ones that you need to pay attention to. Just like with Dyn recently, they new what's coming long before it was announced because of the rumors on this site.

The stooges’ narrative is falling apart so, yeah, they need to fight the truth with nonsense posts and blah, blah, blah. Anything to burry the painful truth that O isn’t doing that great.

Note: it’s painfully obvious that oracle isn’t doing well - no growth, EPS propped up by share buybacks, cash reserves dwindling - we’ve seen this movie before and it’s called IBM & HP.

Wow! Now that their biennial raises are done, stooges have deployed their HR trolls here to spread doubts and upvote/downvote posts. What a great way to use resources!

Well, the reason and the only reason that other fora have more facts about upcoming layoff is that those other companies announce their layoffs in advance - number of people and timeframe; Oracle as we all know does not, leaving people to speculate and try to figure out what’s going on. There is a very simple way in which oracle could fix that. Maybe those of you on this site working overtime for the 3 stooges to discredit the info here, could point this out to your overlords and proved people here with real information. Now, isn’t that a rad idea!

True. A lot of the layoff numbers are questionable as well.

As mentioned given Oracle's sheer size, a certain percentage of turnover is expected alone.

I also notice the owner of this site goes thru a lot of trouble to continue the "theme" by scrubbing posts.

Some claim there are able to sift through the nonsense and get a piece of good info here and there. But I'd point out there are much better sites where your not starting chin deep in garbage. :)

very true.

I have had a look through other layoff forums on this site and its usually factual information about layoffs that are actually happening.

This page is mostly rumors, people interpreting financial reports to predict layoffs, exaggerating known issues.

Oracle is a huge world wide company. Layoffs are guaranteed to happen all the time as the company changes things to work the best.

As one poster keeps us updated there have been 24k layoffs over the past 3.5 years which is really not that big a deal. Granted it s---s for people who have been laid off if they were not in a financial position to accept it.
