"The acquisition will happen this year by a private equity firm who will sell off the brands one by one. "
I expect sth coming this year.
Why this week?
Yes expect announcement either Thursday or Friday later this week. I loaded up on 1000 shares of MAT cheap this morning, I suggest you all do the same before it's too late.
Buyout, selloff Announcement coming?
Too much debt for PE.
Maybe Ynon is planning a spinoff
What a joke. She never buys Mattel. There is maybe a Private Equity or what ever?
Jill Barad is preparing to pounce... otherwise she will lose her Mattel pension when we go bankrupt.
How realistic is an acquisition in the next months?
There are no news?
Stock was up nearly 10% today on news of blind transgender Supreme Court Justice Barbie doll, I wouldn't count on any acquisition anytime soon, Mattel's got this. Okay?

Do you have the same opinion today?
This year will sth. happen
There is a probability
Lot's of rumors of an impending acquisition, but they've been saying that for years now.
Sorry investors or employees, but dream on. No one wants to acquire Mattel. You need to ride this t–d all the way down the drain.
Probably the same year the OP learns how to spell "acquisition. " As Barbie said, "Spelling is hard".
Private Equitys are Interested and here

And why has Blackrock more than doubled their investment in Mattel?
The Parnassus fund sold their stock because of the FP sleeper recall. There's no secret deal in the works.
Parnassus Investments Sells Mattel Due to Product Safety Concerns
- 30.2019
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, May 30, 2019
Parnassus Investments divested all of the firm’s holdings in Mattel, Inc., (MAT) following the news of more than 30 sleeping infant fatalities linked to the company’s Fisher Price Rock ‘n Play Sleepers. Parnassus purchased Mattel’s stock in 2017 before the public was aware that using these sleepers posed a risk of infant death.
Parnassus’s ESG team reopened its research on Mattel as soon as the concerns about the safety of this product came to light. Our team discovered that, once Mattel learned of deaths linked to the sleeper, the company began including written warnings inside the Rock ‘n Play Sleeper box stating that it was not safe for prolonged sleep. However, the product’s packaging and marketing—and the name of the product itself—continued to convey that it could be used with sleeping babies. As the number of infant deaths tied to the inclined sleeper grew, the American Academy of Pediatrics asked the Consumer Product Safety Commission and Mattel to recall the sleeper. The company recalled the sleepers on April 12, 2019.
Parnassus spoke with top company executives, including Mattel’s CEO, for a direct statement on the recall. Unfortunately, Mattel executives could not address our concerns because of pending legal action against the company. Furthermore, the executives’ explanations of their general policies on product safety were insufficient.
Due to the inadequate response of management to our questions about their oversight of product safety, Parnassus began divesting Mattel’s stock in April. All shares held in the Parnassus Funds were sold as of May 29, 2019.
The Parnassus fund sold his Shares of the stock to Blackrock. That Gas Strategic reasons for A sell of. Blackrock will organize it
It's sad the only hope employees have left is a sale to an unknown entity.
Who in their right mind would be lining up to buy Mattel and take on that debt load, factory exposure in China, etc.? Not to mention the narrative that tech is replacing toys. The only legitimate chance of a sale is to Hasbro. Everything else is a pipe dream.
Blackrock owns 11% and is the 2 biggest investor
Acquisuition is in works
Are there any news out to the private equite firm that they buy Mattel this year
You can always tell which r the Isaac Larian posts.
Isaac 'troll' Larian strikes again! Just give it up dude!
JH did what all RD's drones do. Babble and chatter about all the opportunity there is and all the things we are going to do FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER! It will be AMAZING. At first it was just stomach turning to all of us but now the industry sees that we put yet another fake at the top of the heap.
More collabs! They're very strategic.
Is that really sure this year an acqusition?
