Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Mms mass firing

Mms starting to fire people left and right, some already firwd others in the process. I've been working here for long time can't remember the amount of hostility by management against hard workers, is this normal process that other aig depts have done prior to layoffs? Rumor Mms jobs bring sent to TPA in the fall.

To Post ID: @ZTh4Ns8-thlp, what does that have to do with this blog and MMS? I don't understand what you are saying. MMS has great data and saves AIG and it's customers a lot of money with the programs they have and are developing.

Saw on dark web site someone trolling for AIG data. I wonder if we're going to be a target of a disgruntled RIFed IT person. If so, karma is a b*%ch.

to Post ID: @ZTh4Ns8-3gei, I agree. There is nothing proven for sure and no one has been RIF'd or fired in MMS this year. Someone just trying to spread fake news. There's enough bad news that is true going around. We don't need fake news regarding MMS. MMS is a very connected group and work closely with each other and the claims organization. We are connected through out the country and would know as we would have to assist with the duties of anyone RIF'd.

Wait...when the original poster said "left and right", did they literally mean 2 employees, last year? It pains me to think that current MMS employees may have a colleague that would use clickbait verbiage ("mass firing") in a posting here, based on nothing proven.

The Jobs report was GREAT! Thank You Mr. President. Keep your job until they lay you off. Make them Pay.

Tomorrow is Monday. Hope you all had a nice Fourth with your family and friends. 224K jobs were created last month. The Labor Participation rate is up. If you like your job, then keep it. If you don't, now is the time to update your resume and start looking. This company is so bad, no one will blame you for seeking a better opportunity.. I always look at the quitters. The employees who aren't afraid to quit and take a calculated chance on a new company. There is nothing better than having job security at a company that truly cares about you. AIG no longer has summer outings or Christmas Parties. I look at it as an ominous sign of their true intentions.

To 1sms mms has different areas maybe your management is good at communication but others are not. I hear the complaints about needing more info from management. Everyone needs to realize mms has different areas with different roles and managers. Need to stop assuming if your area is great that all of mms is great, some area of mms maybe good others are not doesn't mean we are all same.

to Post ID: @ZTh4Ns8-1wga not sure where you are getting the idea that there is a lack of communication in MMS because that isn't the case. The Managers in MMS and all my peers are very transparent and we wouldn't survive without communication. I agree in other areas besides MMS that the communication is not always the best. I don't know where you are getting your information but MMS has been thriving and developing many new products and services. We are all motivated as a group. Yes there is still the fear of being RIF'd, and uncertainty. But to say there are RIF's going on is really not correct. Our Leaders in MMS are very transparent and so we will wait and see what the future brings.

Indeed. Agree. And no amount of debate on this site will change it. AIGs record speaks for itself.

The problem with aig including mms is lack of communication along with low morale. People feel like they are not appreciated for their work or even wanted by the company combine that with other issues like pay its a negative place to work which if doesn't change will mean disaster for the company.

Read earlier post whereby the posting says “2” - without naming names I’d say that backs it up.

to Post ID: @ZTh4Ns8-1dmu and the others that are spreading rumors re MMS. First of all they are a very lean group to begin with. For those who have left due to retirement, they haven't been replaced. They aren't comprised of a lot of management. To my knowledge, no one from MMS has been RIF'd or Fired this year. Not saying it couldn't happen, but to say employees from MMS are being RIF'd is just a bunch of bull. If you want to say someone was RIF'd this year, back it up with some facts. Otherwise stop spreading fake news.

To the previous poster.... ‘not many” is relative ... esp if you’re one of the “not many” and OBTW it’s the foreshock ... nothing to do south hate ... prediction is based on the AIG MO and historical cycles of layoffs... exhausting for most.

I agree with the poster who said not many RIFs are happening in MMS. Some people hate AIG so much they are willing to manufacture a RIF. What is the point?

I am not saying that MMS won't be hit because I truely believe all departments will be hit. But saying that MMS is firing people left and right is just not true. I am a regular employee in MMS and am not management. I work with everyone in MMS depending on what Insured we are working with. I would know if anyone in MMS got RIF'd or fired. So far this year I haven't heard of anyone in MMS beinig fired or RIF'd. I don't live in a fantasy world and I am not part of management. So if someone has been RIF''d then why don't you give location or role. Also I have regular contact with my peers in MMS throughout the entire country.

I agree everyone who says what people post is a lie is management staff or their henchmen. Management trying to pretend everything is fine. Does anyone really expect mms not to have same treatment other aig depts have with firings, layoffs and management making people miserable

This is not correct. I work in MMS and I haven't seen what you are describing. I have seen many RIF's throughout the organization and now I have to say that this post is fake news. MMS isn't firing employees at least up until this point. A few and I say a few may have been RIF'd in the past but I have not seen any RIF's this year so far.
