Just seeing if there are any rumors of layoffs or org consolidation coming up. Figure the summer is a good as any to trim the fat.

Well said. End of life experience.
The human experience includes the end of life. Riverbed has reached the stage where it’s faculties are declining and the end is near.
STFU about advancing the Human experience. What the f— is that even supposed to mean? mo–ns came up with it.
My friends & colleagues, I urge you to refrain from throwing out numbers that have not been announced yet. I assure you that the vast majority of jobs are safe and that Riverbed at this moment is hiring. There are many open job postings listed on our website. For those still remaining, I thank you for your loyalty and hard work. I hope you are as excited as I am about what we are doing to enhance The Human Experience.
Who is down voting my post ? Would you rather not look for plan B? Do you want to focus on lay-off on a weekend (something that you don’t control?) or you think 25% is not BS?
25% is BS. Focus on the weekend, family. There are no cuts at this time (or very minimal). If you have stayed here this far, no amount of downside is going to make you act anyway.
But Surely, keep interviewing and keep a plan B ready.
25% as early as next week seems like a lot?
If you care about your employees, get rid of some of those useless leaders who has never proved themselves, not the ones proving themselves everyday.
25% US or worldwide? The financials definitely don't look good. Bloomberg saying RVBD debt is rated CCC- which is junk. $2B debt. How RVBD ever gonna pay it unless massive layoffs. SCON needs to be sc-apped. Keep SH and SCentral and see how far they can take.
I’m hearing big # as early as next week
~25%
My friends & colleagues, whilst I cannot comment on any executive decisions that have been made before they are officially announced, I can assure you that we do indeed care about every one of our employees. Taking care of our employees is a fundamental principle laid down by my predecessor and it is one I intend to keep as long as I am here. There have been times when we had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to some cherished colleagues but I think most will attest that we did our best to give them good packages to make their transition as smooth as possible. Let's stay positive and focused on the exciting task ahead of us - fulfilling The Human Experience!
Great! Now we're all f—ed to the core. Good luck to those like me who've got mortgage payments to make.
I’m hearing big # as early as next week
Where is 2 weeks per year law?
The 2 weeks per year is law, so any addition like you mentioned is good to have.
@ZPRzFDb-adwx Only 2 weeks per year? The last round gave away 3-6 mos severance. How do you know it’s changed?
Hey isn’t the US on a furlough? It would be messed up if we laid off US workers after the furlough.
One thing you can count on with execs they don't give a f–k about people.
What makes you say that?
Seems like SCentral is safe. No idea about other BUs.
Heard from another q2 wasn’t as bad as q1 but still bad. “Ok” is reaching. Sales losing people at a fast clip. Those in Cali get two weeks severance per year of service. To some, that’s a good package worth holding out for. Backfilling now is a carryover from last qtr. so doesn’t mean much. For those with class A shares, they will hold out as long as possible to cash out. They’re worth thousands. Duh. Class B shares, assuming any $ left, is complete garbage and worthless unless you got a gazillion of them.
Not taking a chance is one thing, spreading false rumors about layoffs is another.
This seems like speculation. Quality details or STFU.
Don't take a chance. The time to leave is now! Those with marketable skills should not delay the job search. Even if you choose to not accept a new role, it is important to have the job search momentum going BEFORE the ax falls. You don't want to be sitting there, the day before the layoff, with a meeting invite from your VP, thinking WTF now?
Any idea of what department\BU\Product?
It sounds a little strange, Q2 was ok, we had layoffs not long ago, a lot of people left recently and it's pretty clear many are looking to leave or already in the process of leaving and just waiting on the paperwork. Also, some of the teams are hiring\backfiling.
It doesn't add up.
Mood in office is extremely sombre. Everyone I know is pretty much looking to jump the ship before layoffs. Companies will be getting a lot of Riverbed resumes. It's just a question of when.
It is a done deal as already mentioned and should occur before the end of Q3 most likely mid August.
Done and done...
Wikileaks has a copy
what Are the details to the deal the execs signed off on?
Q2 did alright, but that’s it.
We never polished it. At best we plucked some peanuts and sunflower seeds out.
Versa deal done. So SCON surplus to requirements.
We bought a t–d ( Ocedo ) , for three years+ we polished that t–d daily and polished it and polished it.
In the end it was still a t–d...
Pls no scaremongering. We only have each other left. Sure there is some planning, but I don't expect anything this cycle. We have the benefit of doubt due to Versa. But we have to prime the pipe for Versa GA. If those sales are weak, our layoffs may extend to Versa networks.
Yes execs have signed an agreement regarding pending layoffs. It's going to be sudden, massive and painful. Brace yourselves "Rvbders", your time's up.
Steelcentral has a lot of brooms
Yeah. If you see a bug, just sweep it under the rug. ;)
Let’s work hard guys and apply ourselves. If the leaders are not able to fix it, we have to take it upon ourselves. Sell more, write more requirements, write more code, file fewer bugs,
There was a typo earlier - “ . I hope our execs are NOT over promising big forecasts, and setting up for failure.”
We are safe for now, but keep plan B ready, while you bring your A game to work.
Yes met expectations. Safe for now. Worst is behind us.
Is Q2 good or bad . Seems like it was met the expectations ?
You cannot lower the forecast mid Q, since we have signed the forecast in blood with TBE. The problem can be quickly by resetting the forecast the next time we meet them, taking a quick cut, and moving on from there. I hope our execs are over promising big forecasts, and setting up for failure.
My friends and colleagues, while the numbers weren’t quite as spectacular as we hoped I believe we have turned things around and I am excited about what lies ahead. We now have a truly enterprise ready SDWAN solution to offer to our customers. The Human Experience campaign is really starting to resonate. I have full confidence in our glorious sales leader who I feel has done a remarkable job under challenging conditions. Let’s all stay positive. I wish my colleagues in the States a wonderful holiday week!
