Broomfield campus shutting down in September

Sorry Broomfield employees, but you're gone in September. Enjoy the holiday next week, and start applying. Don't stay you weren't warned.

I wonder what it is that motivates trolls to make up phony rumors? Psychopathic tendencies?

Pretty crazy considering timing and size.

Global IT has a huge presence there. ASSUMING this was a done deal, that would mean they plan to shred GIT operations to bits and either move the data center or close it down outright. Maybe move it back to AUS where it started? IT's a little too fantastic to me, plus wouldn't they need to have a WARN notice? something they are averse to?

Any reasonable responses are most welcome. The "blah blah" guy and go pound sand.

O clearly wants to have fewer is locations, ended up with way too many due to all the acquisitions. Therefore working to reduce the number. Bay Area with HQ not something that LE wants to shut down - it’s that ego thing again

Oracle doesn't want high paying jobs button pushers here in America so Broomfield will be outsourced in the near future

Wouldn't it make sense to replace the Bay Areans first? They are on average better paid than those in BRM. Plus the real estate in the Bay Area is far more valuable and easier to unload. Unless O gives BRM away I don't see how they could ever sell it. Even leasing it out has proven to be a challenge.

"Lease is up every year around Sept 12th.... Just see what happens, look to see if it goes up for lease in September"

Lease has already been renewed. For multi-million dollar commercial properties it would have been put back on market at this point if O plans on moving off campus.

OP has a point: who needs data centers when they are being outsourced?

Considering that Oracle is continuing to lease more space to third parties, it wouldn’t surprise me if they eventually sell the campus. But it’s definitely not coming in the next 3 months. 3 years maybe.

I think it would be hard to sell the BRM campus, given its size. Easier to lease it out bit by bit, but even then it would require customers with large staffs. They aren't going to rent out space to some firm with 50 employees.

That said, there is a rumor that those left in building 5 are going to be moved to other buildings and that building 5 might be remodeled for cubicles and leased out. I don't think it's happening anytime soon, though. That rumor has been floating around since 2017. It won't happen until there is a serious tenant for that much space.

As for fully removing Oracle presence from the campus, I think it's highly unlikely.

You're funny, Not very smart, but funny. You can certainly try to dish it out but you sure can't take it. Typical Oracle.

"When you're laid off and bitter."

It never ceases to amaze me that the lie continues to be told that only laid off people are on this board., Fake news! When we all know that the vast majority here are paid by Oracle. Most for doing their regular job, as well as those who are paid to post here.

Laid off people have better things to do with their lives than hang around here.

We all should, however, realize that competitive folks are here, and we should moderate our posts accordingly.

That place is a little large to shut down in 3 months. Call me skeptical on this.
