Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Can we create a list of products that are dead or on maintenance?

To begin with:

  • WebLogic is reduce to core developers, just maintenance and very small features

  • JDeveloper is on maintenance

  • PSM is dead

  • Application container cloud is dead.

The Identity Management Product and Security product lines. Their cloud equivalents are still around and that is the upgrade path.

OPC (aka “OCI Classic”)

Solaris

Solaris Studio

Solaris Cluster

SPARC SuperCluster

OVM/Xen

Pillar Flash Storage

And eventually all on-premises products that aren’t needed to build the cloud...

Sfa,

The team, if hiring, is doing so to have people do the maintenance. Weblogic org size compared to a former coherence boss time is reduced to less than half.

This couldn't be further from the truth. Weblogic just had a customer summit in Rome this past week outlining additional features and direction. The team has been hiring.
