Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Aerospace Band 4 MIPs and Site Reductions

Every function with the exception of ISC will have to reduce band 4s by year end due to the payouts being larger than what leadership expected. Some functions will meet the targets through layoffs, MIP reductions, MIP deletions and moving employees to band 3. Also watch for something new called Distributed Workforce whereby workers within Aerospace can only be located at specific sites. Reason being, the mastermind of ISC is reducing the site footprints by 50% in the very near future. Within 10 years there will be approximately 7 Aerospace sites left.

FutureShapers and Q2 ‘career discussions’ plus hub strategy and relocation of HQ are concrete signs of a huge and imminent company wide restructuring and reorganization. What other proof does anyone need?

There is a span of control review taking place across all SBGs not just Aero. The career discussions are pubic news. The succession planning is less public but since all managers will need to do it the secret will be will known. Basically he succession plan will allow for a massive ReOrg and layoff. You have to have a named employee that can be the immediate replacement for each role. This way they can pull the trigger across wide areas

Like I always said about Honeywell. Dilbert is not a comic it is a documentary on Honeywell.

Leave. It is not going to get better.

Was working the 15% EEI, but not anymore. Company is making record profit yet cuts 5% MIP? PIP me, I don't care. Over the years they have whittled away benefits a little at a time. Next they will cut severance prior to a big layoff. Time to look elsewhere. The economy is too good to put up with this nonsense.

3adn,

I agree with you. I never understood when they changed giving bonuses from sharing with all to giving only the Band 4's and higher MIP bonuses.

It takes everyone to reach goals. What a mo--nic move it was back then.

@Z9cQpKk-3ryg No, the MIP was the portion of you pay that was at risk, to help drive company initiatives and meet financial targets. That is what my offer letter stated and reinforced by my local HR person. Now that was three years ago, today the MIP is one of the things they take away to make the numbers. Not sure how many more things they can take away without asking you to pay to work here.

At least the toilets are still free,.. Doup.. just gave them a revenue idea!

Boo-hoo. The Band 4's are whining about their precious bonus that they may not receive any longer. S--- it up. You're no better than the rest of us.

When MIP was lowered to 5%, the manager, who is now DV site lead, told me I was making too much money.

I retired as a Band 4 from Phoenix Aero. MIP was in fact a bonus over and above our salary.

Hey, I just heard among some fellow engineers in Glendale space that corp is going after band 4's without having direct- reports to pull their MIPs. Say one guy already got hit.

"Aero-E span-of-control" who comes up with these buzz words? Just call it what it is. Demotions pure and simple.

MIPs were never a bonus. The idea was to make part of your pay contingent on the performance of the business. If you lose your MIP, you're taking a pay cut, pure and simple.

Aero-E span-of-control is the initiative by Mahoney. Only affecting only Engineering at E&PS. Rumored, reductions for core engineering Directors/VP's.

ISC "distributed" their workforce so much that now they are looking to fill gaps with temporary hires for a 4 to 5 month gig.

He”s no troll. Clearwater Band 4’s without direct reports losing their MIPs. Being implemented by Director not in your chain of command. ISC, SW & test. Rolling waves. MIP ends, so you get eligibility thru May (5/12ths), but then they’ll say they are short. So maybe you’ll yield 1%. It is indeed true. Also major reorg of technical managers, 1/2 being demoted, others to manage 20ish.

Like many others before me, I took a demotion recently, band 3 back to band 2. Best decision I ever made. Only at Honeywell is getting demoted a good thing. I'm far happier and healthier.

Honeywell is a joke. I am at a point where I believe I could leave and be OK financially. I go to work with the goals of 1. end of day and 2. weekends. And avoiding as many big issue, "projects" as possible. Keep head down, get as much done as I can handle, don't do anything stupid. Boss really doesn't have any technical knowledge of what I do so he doesn't seem to know how to talk to me about what is going on. Too wrapped up in charts and numbers to care. I seem to hear more people (I am older) wanting to move down from a band 4 - too much hassle, big target, not worth it.

Yep, lots of Band 4's got hit today. All of them seem to be over 50. EEI is going to suffer now.

This has been going on for years. Plenty of debanding from 4 to 3 to reduce mip cost. RIFs of employees who were told they could work from a non-aero site 3 years ago now told they have to be at their SBG hub or they're out. Doesn't matter if they are industry experts or sme's. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. It''s accelerating to squeeze out more costs. As for maddog - what a disaster since he took over 4 years ago. PD at record highs and no consequences to him. Shows the mentality of this company. I escaped a year ago and there is life after honey-is-not-well. baloney will be gone soon and God help you all if maddog is given the top spot.

1uta. They say why you not got the MIP? Interesting with all the profit company makes.... buys other companies.... does stock buybacks...... gives the baloney man 10x his base salary as bonus Every year.

Band 4 used to mean faster vacation weeks accrual and 10% MIP. Now there is not much upside to band 4 plus you get a target on your back now. I know many senior engineers sticking around thinking they’ll get to band 4, that motivation is sadly vaporizing quickly.

10 years is totally unrealistic. It’s taking a year per closure so far, with each of the 5 active closures taking a planned 1-2 years to fully shut down and transfer. 50% of roughly 90 sites with barely enough people to manage the current closures isn’t gonna happen.

"mastermind", you mean maddog ? This guy is a total failure. He is responsible of the unbelievable past due and nothing happen to him ... He has created a culture of fear, supported by his stupid "yes yes" direct reports. Now he is trying to climb one more step, and will probably get it to apply all these BS aero wise.

I am glad to be out of this stupid propaganda, yes the grass is greener outside.

There is no integrity, only fear and lies, no culture, no spirit.

If you do not adhere with this politic, then leave. I see my ex colleagues posting BS on social networks, this is a good way to recognize them!
