Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

DXC has 3,724 job openings. They can't hire anyone; no one wants to join!

Take a look at this; over 3700 job openings at DXC for all kinds of roles. That sounds like a lot to me but it's a result of 3 things: 1) No one wants to join 2) People leaving 3) WFR's.

I think it has a lot to do with #1 and #2 above. Those are the people that are smart.

lol. It's because they are in New Orleans, and no one wants to live there.... I know the consultant who advised Mike L on putting the solution center there. It's because it is the cheapest labor market in the USA....

Amusing that ML wants to hire kids into DXC but clearly that strategy has failed due to so many vacancies to be filled. Basic logic suggests that ML is deluded much like the rest of DXC as kids are neither qualified nor sufficiently experienced to deliver on outcomes. OTOH ML's retirement payout is growing whilst older kids (yet more experienced and expensive adults) are being WFR'd.

DXC is nothing but a tool to help everyone at L1-2 make money on the backs of workers who need their jobs. In America, senior leadership has been replaced by Indians. What the heck? No offense but you'd think they'd at least have some actual Americans who can run the business. I remember back in the 80s when my IT colleagues thought NAFTA wouldn't affect them because they were "knowledge workers". Guess what? Greed wins and here we are in America working for an Indian body shop purporting to send clients on a digital transformation. What a joke!!

DO NOT JOIN THIS COMPANY!

I just got WFR'd. I've been with DXC/CSC for 13 years. I was a part of a delivery team for a product. My team hadn't had a raise in 5 yrs. They just laid off the whole team and are moving the delivery team offshore. The only reason I stayed too long was because of the wonderful people I worked with. The past 5 yrs I saw almost all upper mid level management be replaced with Indian names. This company is going down fast. If you still work there, it's only a matter of time before you're replaced with a 3rd world cheap replacement. ABORT!

I remember them riffing someone in a cost plus account and they had to notify the client and tell them that they would be replaced with someone else who would continue the same services. The client was concerned about continuity but agreed. They riffed the person and moved another person to take their place who then spent 2 months getting to grips with the client, project and issues before they were also riffed and there was no-one left to take over.

ML won't allow anyone to be hired to fill the need for Delivery teams to support existing or even new LOGO's.

I always love when companies layoff people on 'cost plus' accounts. I'm not sure where they got their MBA, but the graduation ceremony seems to involve shoving an ice pick up their nose and swishing it around.

Tell that to the 8000 that just got WFR! Wall street likes to see companies doing more with less, it shows they're serious about righting the ship. In the interim, they just outsource everything to Kuala Lumpur and hope clients' networks don't get picked apart like so many other companies who have entrusted their secretes to the sub continent. TajMahal anyone?

Many positions are posted but never hired. Not sure if there is a psychological reason for this, but of the 4,700 openings, probably only a couple hundred will actually be hired and those will always be some low cost scenario.

That number is highly under inflated. I know many accounts that need to hire hundreds. Contract deliverables can’t be met and revenue can’t be billed because MANY positions needed are not even allowed to move to an open request. Let alone find someone willing to work for DXC. There are monthly begging for positions templates sent to our micro manager CEO.

No action is taken. No positions are approved. Even for business with historically high margins.
