Java SE down to the drain?

It looks like more and more of Java SE team is leaving to join other companies that are part of the Java SE platform ecosystem (amazon, microsoft, redhat).

There was at some point posting by microsoft folks on linked in telling Java SE folks something along the line of "if you troubled at your current Java SE work, join us and we have you covered".

Is this true that Java SE team is losing its key members?

It is not down the drain man, there are people who left the team and that is why there is serious effort in hiring and reducing the maintenance work (delegate it to redhat, for example). But quality is not reduced as much the poster here claims.

Have any of you tried JDK 11? We were trying out 11.0.3 and it was still so buggy we just gave up. 6 months after GA and it's still totally unusable. It's like they don't even try anymore.

Not sure what we are going to do. Staying on 8 forever is not a plan, but everything we run is on Java. :(
