Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

The problem is trust

Folks, its NOT about technology.

Oracle is 10 years behind the market but that's not why Oracle cloud will never be a profitable business for Oracle.

The problem is TRUST.

Customers don't trust Oracle owning their data and apps.

Any commercial dispute, Oracle can shut down your business.

On-premises, the most Oracle can do is stop support.

In cloud, they control your access to systems and your own data.

No customer who knows Oracle will do this.

Some will because they have not dealt with Oracle but most will never do that.

Yes I agree the real problem is TRUST. Even Oracle employees don't trust what we heard from executives, All-hands meetings and Employee Summit.

Oracle is another sh-- hole company run some egomaniac like Ford Motor, Walmart, Dell, Amazon, Microsoft. They only care about themselves, and their screwed up families. You guys work for some egomaniac that wants to own a sailing company and own Hawaii with Okra Winfrey. It will be nice to see when their days are up. See you in Hell Steve Jobs. Choke on it.

And often we shut it down by missing SLA times, errors, buggy products and by sheer incompetence .... that's just the cloud support. On prem support is on it's last legs with so many newbies that have no technical training and just quote old manuals to customers.

With cloud Oracle can now threaten more than just "no support" when demanding money. They can and do threaten to shut down the whole environment.

Oracle support is so 'poor' because it has been eviscerated (goodbye APAC, EMEA, Egypt, and now China), very poorly managed, and thoroughly demoralized.
