Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Our competitors are having a field day at our expense

Centurylink is falling apart from the inside out, they keeping saying that the consumer is a important part of the business but their actions are saying the opposite. We are NOT building the network out to new neighborhoods, our competitors are having a field day at our expense. CenturyLink lied to wall street when they said the dividend was safe and no change was planned, then pulled a 180 degree turn and burned those who are in charge of managing large mutual funds. CenturyLink is slowing killing off the consumer business as well as the workforce that supported that work hence all the layoffs and packages offered. I’ve worked here 20 yrs. and have grown to hate the company that I passionately worked so hard and wanted so desperately to be successful. It’s hard to watch it all crumble away... Things always changing with the times and technology but we are watching our family and friends leave us for our competition.

This is as true as it gets. Great post @Yr7UhV1-5xhr

Don’t leave your job because of this, leave on your own terms. Leave because you want too, or because that’s what’s best for you. Don’t listen to others.

Can confirm. I am currently in talks with joining AT&T and Comcast. The experience I gained from working at CTL cloud was worth it.

BTW: CTL cloud is just as bad as the ISP.

That and Comcast has 24 7 support whether it's phone, or on line chat and I can get any problems or pings to my router done almost immediately if need be or have my Control boxes for TV re booted with an update with programming all for get this FREE. If they dispatch and it's a line to the house or any of their equipment it's Free.

Why many people have a hard time changing, and why they go back so fast. Yes many get p-ss-d off at price increases once your deal is up but if you can negotiate you can usually get a new one close to your original. In fact I go in wearing my Centurylink work shirt and coat and I get great service and they know not to try and BS me and I also ask for the Manager of the store since he has to approve any deals anyway.

You are correct. One of our sales reps lost her job because everyone hates us and she couldnt make inflated numbers. Comcast scooped her right up. She called sometime back asking what was going on at CTL? She doesnt even have to try to sell now, because so many people hate us that tbey are calling her instead of her calling them.

Once they smelled blood in the water, they sent people into our areas door to door and put on door hangars advertising $45 next day install for CTL customers. They had to hire contractors to meet the demand of people leaving.

Out of curiousity, we compared programmed lines in our biggest host now, compared to last year same time. Last year 19,000 lines working - this year 8,000 lines. A lot of this we attribute to MAX driving customers away, but wow, that is huge.

We know these are accurate numbers because we queried rhe switch ourselves. Very sad.

Family and friends leave? I use Comcast myself. Better speed, more reliable and cheaper. We have an MRO that uses them. For that matter, more than half the techs i work with use the. AND, when i switched THEY SHOWED UP WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD and it was only TWO DAYS from the day i called not FIVE OR SIX WEEKS like here at CTL. And they didn't even fight their facilities to make it work!
