Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Are recently hired people also at risk?

I started working at Xerox a little over six months ago (I really needed a job ASAP and it seemed like a good idea at a time - I wish I checked this page before I said yes, though.)

I see that most people who are getting laid off have been here much longer than that - does that mean I am safe at least until I am here for a few more years?

We had someone at our core that started 2 months ago get rebadged. So the answer is no one is safe.

You’re safe my core is still hiring sales people. You will be fine. You just might not like the company in the very near future. You need to stay off this site and stay positive if you truly want to make it.

Be proactive and continue your search for another job. Maybe you can find something better with a future!

You're probably safer than most since someone had to approve hiring during this horrible time. But the bottom line is that no one is truly safe. Just be of value to your boss and learn as much as you can while you are here.

I wouldn't assume anything. It all depends on what organization you are in. If you are needed for their short term vision, you'll be safe for a few months.
