Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

You have 3 choices....

  1. Stay put...and continue to suffer this horrendous management vulture culture that could care less about you.

  2. Retire...if you can.

  3. Get your resume and LinkedIn profile together, start applying for jobs and get out of here as fast as you can!

These are your ONLY options!

I also went with #3 and could not be happier if I tried. I feel better. It wasn't until I left that I actually realized how toxic my workplace had become. It was time to go, and I went! New job, new people, new beginnings!

I retired last year but out of boredom (long winters in Rochester) I found a new position with a great company. Less money but in my case going back to work was more about boredom. And I learned that vacation time is a negotiable benefit. I could never understand why so many employees that had years left to work (kids going to college, etc.) continued to stay. I think many love their co-workers, vacation time and flexibility with work hours. All of this is great but it won't put food on the table or kids through college. The current atmosphere is not good for one's health either. I think it is better to start over somewhere else even at less pay versus getting older and more worn out in a very sorry work environment.

There is no fourth choice because the b--tards at Xerox made sure of that, i guarantee if we were given a severence and the right to collect unemployment that 90% of those badged over would have made choice #4

Xerox please take note: our loyalty to you is over, we don't care if your company goes down the drain, we are encouraging people to go to our competitors, we are showing up for a paycheck only until we find a new job!!!

Everyone I know is in the miserable existence of the first two categories but deep down want out. Xerox sure isn’t the place it used to be.

I went with #3 and life is so much better now. Wish I’d made the move sooner. I now look forward to work and no longer have the Sunday blues.
