Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

Purge is needed in the Geoscience group.

It is loooooong over due.

So many 5-15 year folks sit back and collect big payouts yearly with little to no experience. The pioneer model encourages people to put in their 4 years then trade their spine for a bobblehead. Don’t rock the boat, don’t ask questions, just know your role. The inbred nepotism is being propagated by the Goldmember and the likes.

Layoffs,firings,acquisition,merger whatever it takes to get new blood and brains in the organization.

Best thing to do is learn a few Python scripts; tell your manager that you are doing AI or Machine Learning to increase efficiency. Then do a presentation on how you achieved the Obvious Answer.

I think the brains are there. It's more a reflection of the abysmal mentorship and training they receive. A nautilus class or two a year doesnt do jack. They need a well thought out rotational mentorship. Problem is 3/4 of the positions are nothing but factory work and PowerPoint generation. Not a whole lot of room for creativity... I do agree that ideas are not listened to very well and that eventually they realize this and become "Yes men."
