Strange that they axed many including me last Thursday and again the Hiring guy is calling me tomorrow from HQ to discuss about new job and will do H1b visa transfer etc,... so they fire like crazy and hire..Should I take up the new position?

Yes take it and look for a best opportunity in the meantime. Contract termination works bidirectionally. There is no more job security neither loyalty today. IT work environment is volatile you should take advantage the same way IT companies do.
Seriously!!! Take a break and search for a better opportunity, I'm sure you can get better company than Oracle
If you can pay back the servence then take the job. Duh.
