Thread regarding Molina Healthcare Inc. layoffs

Molina Brothers have much in common with Theranos

Read about the fraud perpetrated by Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos. I think the reports of her idolizing Steve Jobs must be an error because she seems to have much more in common with the Molinas. Ignoring facts staring them in the face, incompetence, secrecy, using threats to silence people, lying, nepotism, greed, narcissism, and a love to see themselves on TV or in print just to name a few of their shared business and personal habits. Given his track record of money-losing id--tic business deals (Pathways, Pacific Hospital, etc.), I’m surprised John Molina didn’t buy Theranos and bilk the shareholders for even more. Molina and Holmes are synonymous in every way except she appears somewhat smart. And they dare criticize others for integrity. Joke!!

I agree with this last post. If it’s so bad - we have the option to leave. Like JZ says on here- some of you need to put your god damn heads down and get back to Caid!

Not true as the Molina’s built a great firm from which many benefited. In the process they followed their family’s mission, did not outsource US jobs nor solely enrich themselves and friends, They also were the ones that planned the labor reductions. If the Molinas were so terrible why does the firm still use their name?

Molina’s hired incompetent leaders who were “yes” men. They only wanted to hear good things. The fact that there were never any layoffs is in itself a problem. Every company has “spring cleaning” to get rid of incompetent employees but Molina just held on to the $&!T.

So sad to view the negative messages on John and Dr. Mario not withstanding the family in general. The Molina’s journey was one rich in achievement and touching people’s lives in a most positive fashion. They do not warrant such commentary and my belief is we are better for working with the Molina family.

Let’s pray for all our brothers and sisters of Molina. It’s a great place while we still miss our brothers John & Mario. Remember the old days at Molina? They were great! Let’s not forget that. And let’s do what we can to make Molina great again. I think we can come together to do this. Ling live Molina!!

For you jack wads still realing In Molina pity, note the company made more money last year than the previous 15 years combined under the brothers. I mean you really miss the Molina sycophants that drove the place to the brink of bankruptcy like the math teacher turned head of IT and Business Development, or maybe you miss the motorcycle salesman turned head of HR? No no, must be the narcicist formerly in charge of marketing/pr. Hmmm, maybe the toady who got run out of being the President of MHC to become Mario’s sidekick running their mouths to elected officials. None of whom were qualified for their overpaid jobs but had their lips firmly attached to John or Mario’s backside. If you miss them so much, go work at Golden Shore Medical. Oh, my bad, he ran that place into banko after a single year. Go Joe Z!

You know what else the bro’s have in common with Elizabeth Holmes? Holmes used to have a “wolf” that would reportedly defecate in corners all over the Theranos office and some poor lackey would be in p--patrol. In our case, John Molina would defecate in every corner of the company and his brother would make anyone and everyone in site clean up the $hit.

What an ignorant a$$. Project Nickel was well under way DURING the Molinas tenure. They hired Boston Consulting to work on restructure (layoffs) which were implemented two months after the necessary inglorious exit. They weren’t paper losses buffoon. Molina was having a significant cash crunch in 2017 due to $520m loss in 2016 that were operational losses not just one time accounting write downs. I feel bad for you glassy eyed imbeciles who still fantasize about the Molinas with a very warped sense of their ability (or lack there of) and their $hit character. The Molinas are gone thankfully and will NEVER be back. Get over it!

From someone who was in the room - the board take over included a conspiracy to conceal the shady accounting and public reporting practices regarding losses by LOBs among other things. Pathways is an example. Practically from day one Molina knew they had made a mistake but tried to conceal it as long as they could. The board take over is all about maintaining share value. The Molina’s still have a massive stake in the company valuation.

Last 2 posts are spot on. It’s a shame what happened to the brothers. The reality is, the company itself is not all brite and shiny no matter how you spin it. The brothers are great people as is the rest of the family.

That is correct. The brothers would have never called the lay-off initiative Project Nickel. It’s a slap in the face to what their father stood for. Are they perfect, no. But they care, and ultimately that is probably played a large role in them being released from the company.

I said the Molinas didn't outsource "like they are doing now." It is true there was an outsourcing to Cognizant. It affected 80 people...the current lay-offs are in the thousands. Much different.

As far as the losses go, they were paper losses only. Write downs that didn't have to happen, putting aside more reserves (which they later reversed and took as profit in later quarters). Project Nickel was implemented by the Board after the Molinas were fired.

A few years ago, the Molinas outsourced IT to an Indian-based company called Cognizant before IT was brought back in-house and now outsourced again. There is still litigation pending on that topic. So get your facts straight regarding the Molinas — they’re not as pure as you two fools think and have laid off and outsourced.

God what a couple dummies. The Molinas are personally responsible for the largest layoff in company history known as project Nickel. They posted a $500+million loss in 2016 precipitating the major layoffs. Losers

That's a whole lot of accusations without any facts to back them up. To the original poster, are you still at Molina? How do you know all of these "facts?" The "old" Molina would never lay off and outsource like they are doing now (that is a fact, you can look it up). They never reduced employee benefits. If the Molinas were so bad, why does the Company still hang on to their name?

True that. You forgot eccentric and mentally ill. I suppose Trump is to blame for Theranos and Golden Shores collapse in their warped minds.
