I still have former co-workers that work(ed) in the GBU's: HGBU, TUGBU, FSGBU. Have they been impacted in this latest layoff round?
I was RIF'ed, but enjoyed my time at big O because of the people that I worked WITH; our teams were a family until they continued to break us apart. I was lucky (?) to survive one big layoff, but as they continued to pare down, not so lucky 10-15 years later.

what's the deal with F&B? They split them off again. Are they going to sell them off (finally?)
Lots of low dollar transactions, not much revenue and they're still hiring all kinds of people but why? Oracle prices are so high that any competitor can beat them and customers have no incentive to stay. I predict this is the next gbu to go on the chopping block.
I found out about this round of layoffs from a friend still at TUGBU. He says no one else there heard anything about layoffs so they were unaware. Of course that business unit has now been consumed by OPower since they are responsible for 70% of the revenue.
I was part of the layoffs that occurred in TUGBU about 2 years ago and frankly it was the best thing that happened to me. I got a very generous severance package - 4 weeks for year 1 of service plus 1 week for every year after that and since the silly "unlimited" vacation hadn't kicked in still had a few weeks of vacation to be paid out.
Found a new job pretty quickly and am working on much more interesting technology now.
I was a part of TUGBU organization and was RIF’ed around 6 months ago. They are cutting the GBU dev and support orgs down to the bone in the US but hiring them in the EMEA region to save on costs.
CGBU is slowly shrinking, Tekelec and Acme Packet people still hate each other but no major rif's since last year.
