Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

USA - question for recent hires / or people who know

In USA, when do the health benefits start? And when does the healthcare premium taken out of paycheck? Any specific dates and example you could give would be nice. Say, you started work on Monday, 2/4. Your first paycheck would have been 2/15 (for 1 week from 2/4 - 2/8). Next paycheck would have been 3/1 for 2/9 - 2/22.

(Looking for specifics for a possible legal issue. Not looking for don't join the company or any other JML or HR diatribe, let them eat their steak peacefully for this thread.)

(US) HR submits a spreadsheet of all new hires each week to the benefits group. When their information is loaded into the benefits system they receive an email alerting them to sign up for benefits. You have 30 days to sign up and coverage is effective day one. So it depends on when the person receives the email, time it takes to sign up and then the cost is calculated from day one.

As good as their legal team may be .... it won’t help DXC in the arena of business and reputation outside of a court room .

They will eventually get what they deserve in its own failure . All the salaries paid to lawyers can’t stop that .

What did HR tell you when you were hired? For me it's been over 13 years , so don't remember that long ago.

You can sue but DXC has a team of legal people and can outlast you in court
