Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

The previous Manila Shared Services help desk is being ramped up to replace the FTW service desk. There is a training issue and the quality of tickets from them are useless when resolver teams get them. We have to basically work them from scratch repeating level 1 troubleshooting which frustrates the end user even more. We end up having to send most back as misrouted. All of Field Services, what remains of local IT AIG teams...are being outsourced including the tech bars. Most of Citrix as well was included. All for the sake of savings? The outsource costs will be higher than inhouse support. The outsourcer is finding out they need more personnel to fulfill the same contractual role as their replacements since the replacement teams have been RIFd down and stretched thin. Yet it appears as a savings since the same money is moved from one bucket to another bucket giving those IT towers the appearance of savings and their executives kudos for doing so.

Truth he told, management is being told what to do by consultants. I was asked of I would have joined the company given what I know now 3 years ago. I said look at the share price, as that's a good indicator of where this company is headed long term, even in an economy doing well by nearly every indicator.

Brian and his merry men didn't solely create this morass. But they haven't made it any better, last quarter's earnings notwithstanding.

Even if VPs knew they won’t tell. They are afraid losing their jobs and no integrity left it is all back-stabbing and lies and they break processes forcing staff to abandon CR and other requirements to appease to their leadership

just read that IBM, I believe it was them, former employees are suing over the age Clause they had to sign to get their Severance when they were laid off and it only took 5 employees or ex-employees I should say. Hmmmmm

Entire teams in IT being outsourced or vendored out. Pink slips for many people this week. Multiple locations. Strange example was the citrix team. Was praised by CTO and CIO during town hall for having no P1s and then sent packing. Helpdesk is another example. Had a high level of first call resolution. What did these folks get for their hard work? Pink slips. And of course the execs will get the hefty bonus and sell the outsource as a win-win. Claims processing, payroll, the list goes on and on.

The entire service desk in fort Worth we're told that July will be there last month at AIG.

Get ready to be greeted by thick Indian accents when you call the service desk from now on.

Just got a call from my buddy who doesn't even work here any more and he said the next two weeks will have massive layoffs!!!!!
