Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

RIFs are happening a daily basis

RIFs are happening a daily basis in March and April, and from what am hearing will continue in May, June, and July, and perhaps further. At that point it maybe to force the IT moves to core locations, and get rid of the rest of associates. The core locations are flagged as cheaper locals so even if you went you may get cut from a salary zone A to a C or so, which means lower pay scale. They probably wont be offering any relocation funds either. Anyway that is the future for 2019 and maybe 2020 also. In the meantime the majority of job postings are for Interns to replace to ones being RIF. There is also Legato the India based company that Anthem owns and is replacing all the current RIFs and future RIFs with and at much cheaper salaries. Good luck to all on the RIF hit lists. My boss got RIF last month, and mine and others just happen for this month. The deal is 30 day notice + 26 week package but coordinating with UE to pay up to max and Anthem covers the difference.

Bumped from @YOaWrue-2uld for important info.

Just waiting till next wave of RIFs or lay offs. So if the pattern holds will be more big sets of sneaky invites for Associates to join a Skype for Business invite saying "UPDATE" or similar, which should be near the End of May 2019, and effective for 06/01/2019. The the manager comes on, and then the HR rep, and then you too have also been RIF'd.

This pattern will keep repeating until most if not all are gone and replaced by Legato (Anthem's offshore in India company) who is replacing all associates and contractors.

Best to all RIFs and those to come.

Always remember those who came before you.

History continues to repeat itself.

If are new or considering , unless you enjoy this kind of treatment, probably best to look elsewhere.

This company is really the worst in treating their Associates specially the ones who have been loyal to them for so many years. Anthem is discarding Associates and replacing them with cheap labor from Legato based in India. Anthem is now a company lead by greed and no longer care for their associates and customers but is only interested on profits.

In addition to almost daily RIFs happening now at Anthem ...

The are hitting hard certain groups:

  • at or near 60+ and approaching retirement age

  • California IT associates, it is like a target on you back. There are other areas too, but this is to force move to Core locations like Atlanta and lower pay scales

  • Hit List was prepared for sometime. They are now executing it, and this is not based on Performance, but other factors as have mentioned. (Age, Location, etc)

  • the is no Doc or email to share with media. They are sneaky. They send and invite that just says UPDATE or REORG UPDATE, the you get on with IT manager and they bring in HR rep who emails pdf of your package at that time. They dont want this out in the media.

  • balancing $20M and up on the associates for the screwups of the Executives, who may have already left and got their vested stock options and Golden Parachutes. One again balancing on backs of the workers.

  • this should be a Class Action status.

Best to all the RIFs.
