Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Let’s face it , it’s over.

Companies come and go . It’s a fact . DXC’s time is upon itself and it’s just taking its last few breaths before the plug is pulled. It’s just business. I know it’s hard for others to accept that the gravy train is pulling into its last stop, but squeezing every last penny out of staff just to complete its run is now seen as pathetic .

There is life, careers and horizons after . Just enjoy the new challenges that you choose to take . But go with this lesson learned : do NOT trust the snake oil salesman known as ML

Yep it’s a sinking ship, I have never been employed by such incompetents! I want to do a good job but DXC puts roadblocks in front of me at every step. I will retire next year anyway so I will just coast and collect a paycheck.

DXC is just the worst of the big IT monsters that always believed bigger was better and therefore always looked to acquire other companies along the way. IT has for along time been on the downward spiral with ego maniac management - many people promoted way beyond their ability.

@1fvs DXC is an autocracy run by Lawrie - no way there will be another leader whilst he's around.

The mainstream business press don't really care what's actually going on in DXC or any other company, unless they discover something highly illegal or scandalous. In the absence of those they will simply go on reporting the numbers.

Any hope of a new leader coming in and bringing some fresh air to the enterprise? Or is the Board too controlled or compliant to make this happen or allow it to happen? I realize it might be naive even to think about this. One thing that would help is if stuff we've read about the situation in The Register and crn.com would get into the more mainstream business press. So far, the mainstream seem deferent to the status quo.

There are many ailing tech companies in almost as bad a state as DXC. (Although none of these are likely to be run by a despised, elderly autocrat like Lawrie). There are still decaying carcasses to be picked over, and as one of the last dinosaurs fighting for sc-aps, DXC can keep acquiring these and gnawing on the sc-aps whilst Lawrie ponders the declining value of his share options.

Whilst I agree that the DXC story will not end well, it will take a while yet for the story to play out. A few more years of steadily declining revenues followed by a purchase of a much smaller DXC by one of the large outsourcing companies.

And so will end decades of hard work by employees of HP, EDS and CSC. Sad.
