Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

How long does a internal transfer at Oracle take?

My role was impacted by the 3/22 lay-off. I found another role for which my new manager is working to process the transfer. Any idea how long the transfer process takes in general? Days or weeks? I’m currently in the warning period until 5/21, at which point I will no longer be an employee of Oracle. I’m trying to find out if the transfer will be complete before 5/21.

Even if you are eliminated, and another manager wants to hire you and all is ok with HR, then you will be ok :)

Your "Headcount" made it onto the RIF list, and from various perspectives, you are gone from Oracle. To remove your "Headcount" would really mess up the WARN numbers, and they would have to find someone else (to take your place) if a new manager really pushed for your "Headcount". Your old manager...well...they would have to find someone else to RIF. I would not be surprised if your old manager is dragging their feet for the clock to run out. It's already mid April and if the new/old Manager has not gotten the paperwork in order by now, I'd say its not going to happen. The best way for it to happen would be for your new manager to create a new requisition, then have you apply for that position. The new manager would have to post the position internally and externally unless they got an HR waiver for the time period - and you had a unique skill to warrant being removed from the RIF. So while internal transfers do happen, and places are made for certain people, if it has not happened by now, I would wonder if it would happen at all...internal transfers can happen within hours. Things during a RIF/WARN period are heavily regulated because of the nature of it.

Depends on the group. I know person who was impacted 3/21, and started working in another group right next Monday. Direct hiring managers don't have the right to hire, they can only submit the application to upper level people
